They started up a small cafe called The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and quickly became known for their delicious and unique blends of espresso and tea. Little Elm is a small town in the Texan county of Tarrant. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. The ZIP code for Little Elm is 77516. The name "Little Elm" originated from a stand of trees located near the site of present-day Little Elm, which were called "Elm Grove." In 1836, John Fenton platted what is now Little Elm village on land that he had acquired from Nicholas McGee.reed and other settlers arrived in droves during the 1840s, driving out the Comanches and other Native Americans who occupied much of north Texas. Many of these newcomers founded businesses in what is now Little Elm Village; some notable surviving businesses include J & W grocery store and post office, Pritchett's General Store (now part of IHOP), Ford dealership, Eller's Department Store (now Macy's), and Barnes & Noble bookstore. In 1845, James Kenedy organized a Methodist church in what is now Little Elm Village; it became known as First Methodist Church South or Kawasaki United Methodist Church East after its first pastor, Samuel Kawasaki. Over time, several other churches were added to First MethodistChurch South; these included Messiah Lutheran Church (1887), Baptist Bible Chapel (1903), Second Presbyterian Dutch Reformed Church (1907), Trinity Episcopal Church (1917), and Evangelical Lutheran Zion Covenant United Brethren Church (1971). By 1960, First MethodistChurch South was affiliated with the more liberal Unitarian Universalist Association. During World War II, many residents served in the military or took part in production at local munitions plants; some have since been buried at Bellefontaine Cemetery near Dallas. After war hostilities ended and factories closed down throughout Texas*, many locally born citizens migrated to cities such as Houston or San Francisco.* As small towns dwindled in size*, so did their social Engagements*; however*, by 1990** most residents still belonged to oneof three congregations associated with their respective churches: First United Methodist Church South/Kawasaki UMC North *(1970-present); Second Presbyterian Dutch Reformed Congregation/Pritchett’s General Store *(1890-1968); or Evangelical Lutheran Zion Covenant United Brethren Churches/Bellefontaine Cemetery*(1971-2010). The current incarnation of FirstUnitedMethodistChurchSouth has been around since 1970 when it merged with Kawasaki UMC North - an all black congregation - following a merger between two predecessor congregations*. From then until 2018 when it withdrew from affiliation with any mainline denomination*** (*excluding Pentecostalism***) due to theological differences with its main pastor***** **the congregation remains affiliated with both its original pastors**** ***and continues to serve electricians and plumbers through Its own professional association

Little Elm, Texas is located in the U.S. state of Texas and is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The population was 2,055 as of the 2010 census. It is a small town with a large cultural heritage that has been dating back to before the 1836 Mexican War. Little Elm was named after two prominent local families: the Ladds and Grimes. The first settler in Little Elm was David Grimes, who arrived in 1836 and built a cabin on what is now Old Central Street. In 1839, John Ladds settled in what are now north side streets (now Main Street and Waxahachie Road). David Grimes' cabin became known as "Grimes's Landing." By 1840, there were about 10 settlers living in Little Elm. In 1841, Jethro Gibbs erected a log house on what is now east side street (now Main Street). He also purchased some land for $200 from David Grimes. That year, Little Elm had 9 residents and 1 store
The town of Little Elm, Texas was founded in 1836 by a group of Texans who became known as the Lincoln party. The town quickly grew and began to become one of the most important centers in the area. By 1840, Little Elm had a population of over 100 people and it had started to become an agricultural center. In 1861, Little Elm experienced some large political changes when Abraham Lincoln was elected president. Many small towns in Texas sided with Lincoln whileLittle Elm sided with Ulysses S. Grant. Eventually, the town voted to secede from Texas and formed its own state called Arkansas.
