The Levelland Coast Guard gift history began in 1925. The Levelland Coast Guard was founded on December 1, 1925 when the Texas Coastal Patrol was created to help protect the coastline of Texas. In 1951, the Texas Coastal Guardsmen were merged into the United States Coast Guard and the name of the organization changed to The Levelland Coast Guard. In 1984, The Levelland Coast Guard purchased its present building on FM 1492 in Levelland from the County of Travis.
Levelland, Texas is located in the heart of the Hill Country. The population was 5,602 at the 2010 census and it is a small town that has seen a lot of growth over the years. The town was founded in 1879 by my great-grandfather, Prentice Levelland. It is named after him and contains his namesake business district - Levelland Trading Company - which still stands to this day. The town has experienced some significant changes through its history. In 1907, when it became part of Big Bend National Park, Levelland lost its status as a small farming community but saw rapid growth thanks to visitors coming to see the park and take advantage of its resources. In 1970, when Big Bend Parkway was built nearby, much of Levelland's commercial district became parking lots for motorists traveling between Dallas and Austin. Today, however, many businesses remain in the town - including several banks and two grocery stores - making it one of the most vibrantsmall towns in Texas. One aspect that has not changed throughout its history is its culture: Levelland residents are warm people who enjoy their time there. They are proud of their hometown and locals say they have never had anything bad to say about it!
The Coast Guard has been a part of American society since the early 1800s. The first coast guard stations were set up on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts in response to piracy and smuggling. In 1826, the first national coast guard was created, and it consisted of 15 ships. From then until 1912, the Coast Guard's mission was solely that of preventing collisions between ships at sea and arresting smugglers. As America developed its economy and infrastructure, so too did its need for coastal security. In 1916, Congress passed the Coast Guard Act which provided for a permanent navy protectorate along American shores from Canada to Mexico. This gave rise to the Coast Guard as we know it today- an agency dedicated to providing coastal security within our borders both domestically and abroad. Since its inception, the Coast Guard has played an essential role in keeping our country safe by enforcing maritime law enforcement and conducting Search And Rescue operations when necessary. The Service also maintains over 3,000 miles of coastline throughout America including more than 100 ports of entry serving more than 350 countries. One of the most memorable aspects of our coast guard history is their dedication to being there when people need them most- such as during natural disasters like hurricanes or earthquakes. For example, after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005, teams from across the service responded quickly and effectively with 161 boats/ helicopters dispatched to assist with relief efforts- something that doesn’t happen often enough anymore! Additionally, during Superstorm Sandy in 2012, Coast Guardsmen manned 1 millionsqft (965 square meters) of airspace above Staten Island for hours after landfall so that planes could make their way into town safely! In recent years however, some members have had difficult times meeting these standards especially due to budget cuts which have impacted many agencies across the US government including ours. However through donations from individuals like you who understand how important our coast guard is – we are working hard to bring back some much needed funds so that all agencies can continue performing at their best!

Levelland was founded as a town in 1876 by James W. Levelland, a farmer and settler. The community grew rapidly due to its location on the Brazos River and its natural resources. By 1890, Levelland had a population of 1,500 people. In 1924, the town merged with nearby Corinth to form Corinth-Levelland School District. The district has since been renamed Corinth-Mullen School District. The first residents of Levelland were farmers who settled along the Brazos River in what is now eastern Levelland Township. By 1870, there were only six families living in the area; all were farmers and their businesses included raising cattle, corn, pigs, chickens, and bees. By 1880, there were more than 100 people living in Levelland Township; most of them were farmers who also operated stores and sawmills. In 1876, James W. Levelland founded the town of Levelland based on his discovery of oil near where he lived at that time. The town quickly grew due to its location on the Brazos River and its natural resources – including oil wells that produced income for both locals and investors alike. The town's growth continued until it merged with neighboring Corinth to form Corinth-Levelland School District in 1924 – making it one of Texas' largest school districts at that time. Today, LeellAND continues to thrive thanks to its strong economy and vibrant communities – which are home to some of Texas' most popular tourist attractions such as Lake Worth Resort & Casino and Carthage Regional Medical Center). Thanks also to investments from local governments like Athens County (which operates the Leon County Library) and Trinity City Schools (home of Dilley High School),LeLLAND has seen significant expansions over the years including new housing developments (such as White Sands Landing), retail development (including a mall called North Park Mall), agricultural research facilities (including an oil refinery), educational opportunities (including aspects for students with special needs], sports venues (both professional football teams played their home games at Rice Stadium before moving into their current stadium within months), as well as many other infrastructure projects designed specific to support growing communities like ours!
Levelland is a town in Johnson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It began as a small community on the east side of Levelland Creek, about two miles (3 kilometers) north of present-day Levelland. In 1871 it became the county seat and remained so until its incorporation as a city in 1907.
