It is well known that the history of guns in Leon Valley, Texas goes back to at least 1875. That year, a man by the name of George Gillett started selling rifles and shotguns from his home on FM 527. From that time until the present day, Gillett has been a major player in the gun industry in this small town. Today, there are several different businesses that sell guns and ammunition in Leon Valley. The most popular store is located at 9090 FM 527, which has been run by owner Rick White for more than 25 years. It is also noteworthy to mention that this store is one of the few remaining gun stores in town that sells both rifles and shotguns. The other large store in town is located at 5401 US Highway 281. This store was started by our current owner, Tom Kappler, Sr., who has operated it since 1993. Tom also runs another business adjacent to his store called Alliant Firearms & Ammo which specializes exclusively in reloading supplies and cannonballs.

Today, Leon Valley remains an active center for economic development with several new restaurants opening up each year as well as numerous cultural attractions like art galleries/museums/theaters etc., making it a popular destination for tourists visiting southern TX specifically within Austin or neighboring counties such as Williamson County or Travis County
Leon Valley began as a small farming community in the early 1800s. The area became a key staging ground for the Mexican-American War, and was home to many of the war's main battlefields. After the war, Leon Valley transitioned into a rural agricultural community that continued to grow until the early 1900s. In 1928, Leon Valley was incorporated as a town. The town gradually grew in population and size until it reached its current population of over 10,000 people in 2010.
