They roasted their own coffee until 1949 when they switched to the Jura Corporation's mill which allowed them to produce a wider variety of coffees.
Leander is a small town in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The name "Leander" comes from Spanish and means "the place where wheat is found." Leander was founded in 1836 by Captain David Sanger and his wife Nancy as a post office called Poteauville. In 1839 it became Leander Station on the Texas Central Railroad. It was renamed Leander in 1865 after Rear Admiral John J. Kincaid, commander of Ulysses S. Grant's First Fleet during the American Civil War who had been living in New Orleans before his service in Texas. Kincaid had helped tofound Fort Worth in 1827 and named it for his hometown of Kingston upon Hull, England. In 1873 Leander incorporated as a city and adopted an ordinance establishing nine wards which were to be divided into precincts for political purposes. The first commissioner of public works was George Hargrave who served from 1870 until 1872 when he was replaced by A J Ellis The first mayor of Leander City was Wm Clements who served from 1893 until 1897 when he resigned to run for county judge In 1907 Mayor Fenton Bertolet took office after being elected as a Democrat to succeed Hargrave Bertolet would later serve two terms (1911-13; 1917-19) as mayor before retiring effective December 5, 1923 due to term limits set by the state legislature On November 3, 1922 twelfth district representative Barton Long ran unopposed for re-election despite having no major party affiliation and high marks given by both him and fellow Democrat A C Guthrie for their work on education reform within the Twelfth District . He won with over 60% of the vote . On April 14th 1923 Governor Harry Hughes signature moved legislation setting termlimits for members of both Houses at six years with no possibility of serving again beyond that date without seeking reelection or receiving negative attention thereby fulfilling Legislature’s mandate “to provide good government”

The name Leander comes from the Spanish word "llamada" meaning "native." In 1881, James W. White founded what became known as White Settlement and named it after his father-in-law, Leander Woodbury. The town was platted on November 3, 1881 by J.W. White with A.W. Hogg as its first mayor and C&O Railroad Vice President William Sagers as its first recorder. On December 5th 1881, the town's incorporation occurred when fifty citizens met to vote on whether to incorporate or not On January 2nd 1886 further applications were filed to add other towns in Addison County such as Carthage and Pendergrass which were granted their incorporation on February 10th 1886 In 1889 Leander had a population of 910 people with 160 houses and 100 acres of land . By 1900 there were over 4500 people living in the town with 300 businesses
