After years of growth, Starbucks was born. In 1997, Starbucks made its debut in Northlake – one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Texas. And today, we continue to grow with our latest location - Starbuck's at The University Place Hotel & Conference Center. The Lakeway Coffee Roasters was founded in 1984 by current owners, Rick and Kristen Kapp. The company roast their own beans on site and offer a wide variety of blends, including Breakfast Stout, Latte Artisano, Robusta, and Dark Roast.
Lakeway, Texas is a small town in Denton County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,717 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The first settlers in what is now Lakeway started arriving in 1853. The community was named for General John A. Lake, who had been an officer with the Mexican War and later served as governor of Coahuila and all of Mexico before becoming a U.S. Senator from New Mexico during the American Civil War (1861-1865). In 1867, General Sam Houston donated land to build a school and post office near present day Northlake Boulevard and I-635 South after he became president of the Republic of Texas. In 1875, local citizens built a gristmill on Elm Street that still operates today as Grifters Mill & Damselfood Bakery Ltd.; it powers Lakeside Drive Waffle House which opened its doors in 1924. In 1903, voters approved annexation by Denton County and Lakeway became a full municipality under its own government with three councillors elected at-large rather than through ward boundaries like today’s structure. Today’s downtown area was once much larger; however most development took place along Elm Street between Interstate635 south to Southlake Boulevard and I-30 north to FM 1960 east where homes were built for bankers and other business people in what is now known as “the Loop” area near downtown Denton proper – ground that would eventually be reclaimed for housing again when Interstate 15 was built on top of it starting in the late 1970s/early 1980s driving away most if not all these businesses creating some current commercial areas around Main Street but no residential structures remaining save one home currently used as both residences & business office space known locally as simply “The Hacienda” although less formally this may also include an attached garage/shop on one side or an attached swimming pool/play area on another side forming what are currently parkland areas within DowntownDenton properalthough annexed into city limits since 1984

Lakeway was founded in 1879 by Colonel John F. Cooke and his wife, Sarah. The town was named for the main stem of the Trinity River, which flows through the town. The population of Lakeway grew quickly, reaching 2,000 in 1880. In 1892, a new courthouse and jail were built in the town and soon became known as one of Texas' " Model Towns." In 1916, Lakeway incorporated as a city under a new constitution. By 1925, the population had reached 5,000 people and it grew to 10,000 by 1930. In 1945, during World War II, Lakeway played an important role in the war effort by providing materials for munitions factories. In 1955-1956, Lakeway experienced its first tornado outbreak when two tornadoes struck the community on October 15th and 16th. The city of Lakeway experienced another growth spurt during the late 1960s and early 1970s when it became home to both TXA University (now UT Austin) and Texas Instruments Company (TI). During this time period also came about major changes to local government with lakeway's incorporation becoming effective at that time making it an all-encompassing city government with responsibility for education、 economic development 、 public works 、 zoning 、 environmental protection ……etc., which has continued into present day.
Lakeway is a community in Fort Worth, Texas, United States. It was founded in 1887 by the merger of two smaller towns, Lakeway and Willowbrook. The first post office was established in 1887.
