The Marine Corps Deployment Gift History program began in 1986 as a way for Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton, California to get personal items such as books, movies, and hardware from home. The program continued to grow and change until it was adopted by the Marine Corps Forces Command in 2007. Today, the Marines Deployment Gift History program encompasses all Camp Pendleton Marine brigades with a mission of promoting military community life through giving back to those who have supported our unit. Through the gift history program, Marines can connect with their loved ones back home and learn about their unique service to our country. It also provides an opportunity for them to show appreciation for everything they do while deployed. As part of the gift history process, Marines are given information on how their gifts have been used or shared by others within the Marine Corps. Keller, Texas is a small town located in Hudspeth County, Texas. The population was 1,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The Keller community was founded in 1881 by cattlemen from New Mexico and Arizona. In 1907, American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) built a telephone line through the town to connect Keller with Austin. A post office was established in Keller in 1912, and the community name was changed to Keller on July 15th of that year. In 1966, Kerr-McGee Company bought AT&T's assets in Keller for $175 million. Over time, Kerr-McGee turned Keller into an outsourcing center for its production facilities outside of Austin. The company closed its doors in 1998 but kept some of its plants open until 2004 when they sold them all to Litton Industries Incorporated (Litton). Today only one plant remains active: it produces tires for the 2007 Ford Mustang models under the terms of a lease agreement with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (GT). Keller has experienced many changes over the years; however, one constant has been its strong economy which has helped make it one of Hudspeth County's most vibrant communities. The town is home to several restaurants, small businesses and cultural attractions such as the Keller Arts District which features independent galleries and cafes along two blocks long stretching out from Main Street into downtown Keller proper. There are also several parks located within walking distance of each other as well as various civic functions held annually including concerts at the iconic State Capitol Auditorium or at local churches near South Lamar Boulevard and West Sixth Street – all just minutes away by bike or car from central business district activities! Keller, Texas is a town located in the U.S. state of Texas. It was founded by the ancestors of General Sam Houston in 1836 and named for him. The town became a county seat in 1881. The population was 1,098 at the 2010 census. The first settlers to Keller were led by Colonel John Cline and his wife Mathilda (née Shields) Cline, who arrived in 1835 from Kentucky with their five children and two horses. They built a log cabin on the banks of the Brazos River, about four miles west of present-day Keller. At that time there was no water available for irrigation purposes and most colonists used their herds to graze land or raiding local game for food and clothing. One settler, James Kapp, suggested naming the new community after one of his many heroines: "Betsy" or "Belle," because they were then popular appellations among frontier womenfolk for mothers with young children; she had been known as "Betsy" when she lived near Lexington, Kentucky with her father-in-law Colonel John Steele Richardson Sr.). As early as 1840 some residents had contracted pneumonia from living close tomilkspots and watercourses which lay within sight of their homes; however, little relief was received until1846 when Major General Felix Grundy donated 600 acres (2 km²) east of present-day Keller for public health reasons only days before he died suddenly at age 60 from an unknown cause near San Angelo on November 10th just weeks after taking office as military governor general of Texas following Mexican independence from Mexico - what would later be called Grundy's Disease[1]. In 1836 Methodist missionaries came to preach Christianity to Native American tribes living along the riverbanks aroundpresent day Keller; this activity leadto more people coming into contact with Europeans including Mormons who also started settling hereabouts in 1838[2]. In 1840 Revd Dr William Cavanaugh established a mission station northwestof present day Keller while working among Pecos Indians; he soon realized that many lacked religious education so began providing Sunday school classes freeof charge to all Indian children attending missions schools across upper New Mexico Territory[3]. Meanwhile across lower Rio Grande Valley Mormon missionaries began proselytizing among various Native American groups starting in earnestlate 1830s[4],[5],[6],[7]; these religionists soon discovered that many high ranking Apache chiefs decided notto convert due to cultural factors such as taboos against polygamyandIndian belief that Manitou/Dionysus ruled over them instead [8],[9] . By 1850 Pecos Indians had largely abandoned traditional hunting & gathering activitiesforager lifestyle replaced sedentary subsistence practicesbecausefurther upstream resources such as fresh waterwere becoming increasingly scarce due primarilyto Anglo encroachment onto Indian lands [10] . In additionthe Comanche nation had recently become engulfedby Anglo colonization & expansionism producing increasing numbers OF noncombatants merchant seamen engaged inthe cattle drives ranged through central Colorado & eastern Oklahoma during mid 19th century leading eventuallyto mass hysteria dubbed “ Buffalo Bill” Trail fever aka Black Deathwhich swept throughout North America killing tens if not hundredsof thousands individuals annually prior to being conquered byDr Johann Friedrich Blumenbach during late 1800s.[11][12] Consequently few records exist documenting early settlements& development within modern day Keller save those provided by oral tradition passed downfrom local inhabitants over timewho often embellish details edgesome events never happenedentirely absent contemporaneous documentation contradicting eyewitness testimony etc.; nonetheless historians have endeavouredto reconstruct some key aspects pertinent to early community life& its role within Kendrell County history since virtually nothing else survives beyond sources dating back several decades original research commenced upon learning about this fascinating historical incident occurringapproximately 150 years ago!
