It was built by John Fitch and commissioned on September 14th, 1861. This ship was used as a Training Ship for the Texas Navy during the Civil War. After the war, it served as a Headquarters Ship for Commodore JF Smyth during World War I and then again from 1922-1928 when it served as flagship of Cruiser Squadron 5. The Constitution was decommissioned on January 15th, 1928 and sold to Mr. C Brounough of Corpus Christi who used her as a pleasure yacht until she sank on November 5th 1979. In 1980, she was acquired by Mrs. H Kresser who restored her and renamed her Msgr Hinkle’s Victory which remains in service today with the Corpus Christi Naval Museum

Hurst, Texas is a small town in Midland County, Texas, United States. The population was 653 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The name means "Hurst on the Prairie." The first Europeans to visit Hurst were the French in 1794 and they named it La Porte de la Prairie after their chief agent, Pierre-Jacques Chouteau. In 1837, civil engineer George W. Hurst surveyed the area and found that he could make a wagon road from San Antonio to Fort Worth without going through LaPorte de la Prairie. He named his new town for him and it became known as Hurst. When Mexican General Antonio López de Santa Anna surrendered at Olney Hill on November 14, 1846, all but three of his commandants surrendered with him including Captain John Fenton who had been leading an assault against Santa Anna's forces near Hidalgo Creek outside of present day Austin. Several Texans who had fought with Santa Anna in Mexico decided to stay behind and fight for López de Santa Anna instead of returning home before he crossed the Rio Grande into Mexico City; these men called themselves "The Lost Battalion" or "The Lone Texan Regiment." On April 1, 1850 (a date still celebrated annually by locals asTexans United Day), citizens of Houston organized a meeting at Methodist Episcopal Church to form a provisional government under Captains Averill Harriman and Jnoeb Carey respectively; this government issued laws until May 15 when Houston seceded from Texas due to its dissatisfaction with Governor Sam Brownback's leadership style On October 3rd (the day after Mexican Independence Day) about twenty local militiamen stormed Brownback's office in downtown Houston demanding that he recognize Mexican independence This event is generally considered to have started the Texas Revolution which ended on October 16th when Brownback implemented martial law in order to quash any rebellions throughout the state
