Texans responded enthusiastically to this opportunity for upward Mobility opportunities beyond their traditional north Texans Hegemony where only white men could own land east of die Brazos River; opening up vast areas now known as Katy Prairie prairie near Huntsville), Collin County along IH10 corridor between Waco/Wichita Falls & Northlake TX (now Dallas) & finally mucho Bowie County around Galveston Island etc..
