Horizon City, Texas is a small town in the US state of Texas. It is located on the Neches River and has a population of around 5,000 people. The city was founded in 1885 by W.H. Spangler and his wife Lula. Prior to that it was known as "Poteet". Horizon City became an independent city in 1907. In 1942, the city was bombed by the Japanese during World War II and many buildings were destroyed including the original courthouse which stood until 1977 when it was torn down for fire damage. The only remaining building from this time period is the Spangler Library which is open to the public today. The origins of army gift history in Horizon City can be traced back to World War I when General John J Pershing visited Poteet and saw how well-off its citizens were with their own private army which they had organized themselves into a force called "The Texan Rangers" (later renamed "the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry"). This inspired Pershing to establish an army unit in Poteet specifically so that Texans could serve side by side with American soldiers in order to keep them safe during wartime. When World War II began, Poteet's mayor decided to offer up hisCity Hall as a bombing target so thatTexas military units could practice bombarding targets without risk of civilian casualties! The 1st Lt Col Earl Hines commanding 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry paid particular attention to this offer - he quickly realized that if he didn't have any other options then invading Japan would become his top priority! He ordered all his troops into action outside of Poteet on September 29th 1941 under cover of night just hours after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor! Since then every military unit stationed in or visitingPoteet has made at least one donation back into Horizon City's coffers! Additionally, many businesses have donated goods or services such as local restaurateurs who offered free meals during WWII for American troops stationed nearby; these events are now considered part of town history along with General Pershing's visit! Today there are over 350 active duty military units stationed throughout North America including two battalions (or groups) each composed entirely of female soldiers! Theseunits provide stability and security not only within our borders but also Overseas where they contribute greatly to peacekeeping missions and humanitarian relief efforts! Each year GI families come togetherto celebrate National Military Appreciation Day by hosting an event honoring their loved ones who have served our country through war or peacetime service . There are also numerous museums located throughout downtown Poteet exhibiting various artifacts related to Army life both before & after WWI; these include Unit Museum #2 which focuses on cavalry & artillery units fromWorld War II until present day; and Veteran Services Center displaying items such as uniforms, medals & memorabilia from various wars dating back centuries

Horizon City was established in 1879 as a wagon train stop on the Chisholm Trail between Dallas and Austin. In 1907, it became an agricultural center with processing of cotton and other crops into flour, hay, cattle and fuel oil. In 1940, it became a munitions production site for the United States Army during World War II. The military closed down the plant in 1991 but left behind an impressive collection of munitions including artillery pieces, mortars and machine guns. In 2000, Horizon City embarked on a $4 million development program to create shopping malls and new homes for its citizens. The project included construction of two malls- one in downtown and one off Interstate 10- as well as new housing developments around them. The city now has over 20 retail stores and over 100 homes total

Horizon City is a city in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. It is located on the banks of the Rio Grande, about south-west of Ciudad Juárez. The population as of 2010 was 16,521. The first Europeans to visit what is now Horizon City were French traders who set up a post there in 1819. At that time, it was part of Chihuahua and was called San Fernando de las Palmas de las Casas. In 1829, after Mexico gained its independence from Spain, Francisco Antonio Meade founded the town and named it San Fernando de los Angeles del Rio Grande (Saint Anthony's Fortress on the River Grande). It became an important trading post for cattle and horses because it had good water supplies. In 1835, two years after Mexico achieved its independence from Spain, George Bird Swann established a U.S.-owned military base at San Fernando de los Angeles del Rio Grande with orders to protect American settlers in Chihuahua from Apache raiders. As part of this mission, Swann built a fortification known as Fort Stockton which still stands today. In 1846, when Texas seceded from Mexico and became an independent republic under President James Kenedyner Baylor., San Fernando de las Palmas de las Casas reverted back to Mexican control and was renamed Córdoba al lado del Río Grande (Cordoba next to the River Grande). After Texas won its own statehood in 1861, Córdoba's name changed again - this time to Austin - but by 1865 it had reverted back to its original name once more: Horizon City. From 1870 until 1914, Horizon City was home to one of America's largest cotton plantations - The Cotton States Plantation Company - which employed over 100 000 people during that period alone! That plantation closed down in 1914 due to World War I; however nearby Hearne County continues operation as a cotton farming community still today!
