The Coast Guard was founded in 1915 in Hawaii. The first Coast Guard stations were developed to help defend the Hawaiian Islands from pirates and smugglers. The Coast Guard soon became a vital part of the American military and played an important role in conflicts such as World War II, the Vietnam War, and the Gaza Strip Conflict. In recent years, the Coast Guard has also become a key element of U.S. Homeland Security. Today, the Coast Guard operates over 350 coast guard stations across the United States and Canada. These stations provide security for ports, waterways, coastal areas, and seascapes. The Coast Guardsmen who work on these missions are often called “the protectors” because they play a critical role in keeping our nation safe online and off its coasts. One of the most unique aspects of our coast guard mission is their gift history. Throughout history, members of the Coast Guards have donated items such as clothing, tools, vehicles, and even homes to support their comrades on-duty or give back to society in general. Some examples include: -In 1978, Captain David Ault donated his old submarine USS Pompano to be used as a daycare center for children located near Miami Beach during Hurricane Hugo damage (Hudson’s storm). -In 2009, Petty Officer First Class John Griggs donated his life savings to purchase new equipment for use by Lighthouse Keepers Protection Society during severe weather conditions that struck Northern California that year (storm season). -In 2012, Warrant Officer 1st Class Jason Stockton donated his truck to be used as a command post for law enforcement officers conducting search warrants along Texas's coastline during Operation Neptune’s Spear (Texas state offensive against Mexican drug cartels). -On July 25th of this year – just days after devastating Harvey – Members of The National Weather Service presented donations including all manner of weather gear to local responders at Houston Port Authority before departing for their next assignment (Harvey relief operation).

The next person to serve as Commandant was Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt Beattie who held that position from 1865-1868. Commodore Beattie is most notable for leading American forces during the Mexican Revolution and helping to build the Presidio of San Francisco in California. Finally, Rear Admiral George Dewey took office as Commandant in 1892 and led American forces during World War I before retiring after service totaling 38 years.
Greenville is a city in U.S. state of Texas, located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex on the central bank of Fort Worth. The population was 109,813 at the 2010 census and is the most populous city in Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. It is also one of the fastest-growing cities in America. Greenville was founded by African Americans as a port town for cotton goods that transported from slavery to marketplaces all over the South during the 19th century. The economy of Greenville depends largely on its large agricultural industry which includes corn, soybeans, rice, cotton and other crops grown on large plantations throughout much of East Texas and Southeast Oklahoma; although some manufacturing sectors have arisen since World War II based on military hardware produced locally or exported nationally; such as aircraft production and electronics engineering products. In recent decades there has been significant investment in downtown areas including new hotels and office buildings, making it one of America's leading business districts. The name "Greenville" comes from "Greensboro", where English colonists established a small settlement in 1692 after they discovered an Indian village nearby had been abandoned by their predecessors because they were afraid of Native American raids into adjacent plantations owned by white men. One account says that Captain John Smith (the future colonial governor) named his small town after "a green field close to our own." However this story may be apocryphal because no such field exists near Greensboro today - likely because development moved away from what is now that part of town during early 20th century real estate speculation associated with Fort Worth’s rapid growth following World War I when many servicemen returned home to find their confiscated assets doubled or tripled overnight due to increased federal largesse following World War I called “gospel capitalism”). The first recorded African American resident came to Greenville in 1848 when slaves brought down logs for boat building at what would later become Morehouse College (later Vanderbilt University). As railroads arrived in Texas during Reconstruction era they linked up with slave trade bringing more Africans to Galveston across prairies outside Houston – so much so that numbers tallies compiled by newspaper reporters just two years after end of civil war showed Galveston’s black population had swollen 300%. Aided greatly by northern investments resulting from opening up West Texas due to Kansas ownership disputes following Mexican–American War (1846), Redeemer Methodist Episcopal Church was organized here December 6, 1865 led by Rev Dr Wm Henson with $1,000 gift from General Sam Houston giving him title deed but few people participated until 1870 when Mrs Sarah Goode donation made Congregational church #2 & first brick church built herein precedes First Baptist Church redecorated 1872 inside current day Methodist Episcopal Cathedral complex while Second Baptist congregation built another church next door using proceeds 1889 & First Baptist Chapel burned 1893 (& Methodists moved out) leaving only Congregationalism remaining until 1907 merger with Presbyterianism creating present day United Methodist denomination.) The Coast Guard has been providing a service to the public for over 100 years. Through their actions and programs, they have helped ensure that our coast is safe and secure. From providing search and rescue services during natural disasters such as hurricanes, to helping keep people safe on trails and lakes, the Coast Guard has a history of offering unique gifts to individuals and organizations. The Coast Guard also provided smallpox vaccinations in the early 1800s in order to prevent future epidemics. In 1915, the Coast Guard established their first maritime patrol squadron which was later renamed as Squadron Three Five Two (S3-5-2). This was an important step because it allowed them to work with other law enforcement organizations on patrols near shoreline. Some examples include: In 1952, the Coast Guard established their own helicopter squadron which became known as Helicopter Squadron One Zero One (HS1-ZO1). However, Greenville quickly rebuilt and soon emerged as one of the most prosperous towns in Texas. In 1865, Greenville became part of the newly created United States territory of Texas. During World War II, Greenville played an important role in the war effort by providing food and munitions to Allied forces. In 1945, Greenville was renamed Fort Worth after Major General George Custer's death at battle near Gettysburg. Following World War II, many new businesses began to open up in downtown Greenville; this prosperity helped to spur further development and increase trade within the community. Today, downtown is one of the most vibrant areas of Fort Worth with an active nightlife and growing number of cultural attractions
Greenville is a city in U.S. state of Texas, located on the Brazos River in East Texas. The population was 97,595 at the 2010 census, making it the most populous city in Johnson County and one of the largest cities in Texas by population. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. The first permanent residents of Greenville were African Americans who had enslaved themselves during the early 1800s. A cotton gin was built on Brush Creek near present-day downtown Greenville in 1829, and early textile mills followed around 1830. In 1868, George Waddell founded Houston & Lake as a transportation company that transported goods from Galveston to Johnson City and back again with steamboats; this became known as Waddell Navigation Company until 1870 when Houston & Lake merged into Union Pacific Railroad. In 1896, Greenville gained city status when it annexed neighboring Una Valley. The annexation made Greenville one of the larger cities in Texas by population (it would not become a state until 1907). In 1904, another merger happened when Baylor University bought land from Union Pacific Railroad for use as their new campus; this led to Baylor's eventual incorporation into TCU University proper in 1912. During World War II, many factories closed down due to lack of war production materials; however, some still operated until 1946 due to post-war regulations outlawing such operations within borders of countries allied with Nazi Germany (eastern Europe being included). In 1948, Interstate 20 was completed through central Greenville and annexed much rural EastTexas including parts of LaPorte County; this decision helped spur growth within eastern Red River Valley beyond Dallas/Fort WorthMetroplex boundaries which continued unabated until 1990s suburban sprawl began supplanting smaller towns throughout Central TX., while eastsideHouston experienced rapid gentrification described hereinbelow among other reasons listed previously
