In 1836, Nicholas Biddle foundedthe Bank of America at what is now Main Street and Exchange Place in downtown Houston; he named it after his ancestor Nicholas Biddle who had donated money to establish the bank two years earlier. In 1853, James Fenton bought 2 acres (8 ha) surrounding what are now occupied bypresent-day First Baptist Church and Methodist Episcopal Church for $1 per acre ($10 per ha). He named it Fenton's Prairie because he believed that agriculture would be the most successful industry here; however, this idea did not take off until later when he developed cotton plantations near present-day Rosenbergsboro due to climate change issues brought about by global navigation changes during World War II

Since its inception, the A-10 Warthog Aircraft has been a favorite among USAF pilots. It is both fast and versatile, making it a perfect aircraft for operations in tight airspace or close combat situations. This aircraft is also known for its survivability in harsh environments. In addition to its capabilities as an air warfare weapon system, the A-10 Warthog Aircraft is also used for training purposes by USAF pilots. In recent years, there have been calls for renewal of the A-10 Warthog Aircraft program. These calls are based on several factors: 1) concerns about future threats posed by Russian bombers; 2) changes in technology that could make older planes less effective; 3) fatigue failures that could occur over time; 4) environmental concerns related to manmade climate change; 5) budgetary constraints within the USAF; 6) differences between American and European fighter jets

Galena Park is a small town in south-central Texas, United States. The population was 3,895 at the 2010 census. It is a part of the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area. Galena Park was founded on August 24, 1872, by Hilda and Leland Galena as a trading post on the Galleria/Houston Ship Channel. The post office was first opened in 1875 and later moved to its current location in 1902. In 1916, Galena Park became an incorporated town under the name of Washington Crossing. On December 12, 1914, the town was renamed for General Philip Sheridan after he helped lead the Union Army during World War I. Galena Park has three primary businesses: education (including Stranahan High School), health care (Houston Community Medical Center and Methodist Hospital), and recreation (the park includes baseball diamonds and a playground). A fourth business - retail - exists in adjacent Montrose which caters to local residents only. Galena Park's history began with humble beginnings as a trading post on the Galleria/Houston Ship Channel during the early 1800s. The post office first opened in 1875 and later moved to its current location in 1902 due to lack of space elsewhere in town. Because of its proximity to Houston's largest city center and large markets, Galena Park quickly become one of Houston's most important commercial districts over time. A major development that took place within Galena Park occurred when it became an incorporated town under the name Washington Crossing on December 12th 1914 following General Philip Sheridan's donation of land to make it possible for citizens of Galena Park to share their community better than they had ever been able to before due to geographical limitations at that time: "Our [Washington Crossing] vicinity could never be reached by wagon or horseback from any other part of our great metropolis." In recent years, GalenPark has seen significant growth due primarily to two main factors: education (+10%) and health care (+20%). Since 2002 alone, GALENA PARK HAS ADDED 10% OF THE AREA'S POPULATION TO THEIR SCHOOL DISTRICT!
