Ewart Sanders from Chicago and J.B. Marriott from Nashville, Tennessee as a cooperative venture to sell coffee to large businesses throughout the United States based on price, quality, and delivery time
Gainesville is a small town located in east Texas. The population was 6,989 as of the 2010 census. Gainesville is the county seat of Hudspeth County. It is named after George Washington Carver, who settled there in 1876. Gainesville began as a small community on the banks of the Neches River. In 1887, it became the county seat and served as such until 1893 when Hudspeth County was created and Gainesville became its first capital. From 1907 to 1912, Gainesville was also the location of the Texas State Capitol before that building moved to Austin, Texas. The current courthouse was built in 1925 and has been used by both Hudspeth County and state governments since then. The jail opened in 1951 and continues to serve today as one of Gainesville's most popular tourist attractions. There are also several businesses located in or around downtown Gainesville including two churches (First United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church), a post office (1925-1977), two restaurants (Breadfruit Cafe & Fryer Bakery & Grille), two convenience stores (Cottonwood Supermarket & Texaco Grocery Store), three schools (Lone Star Elementary School, Hutchins Middle School, and East Texas Community College) and one library (Gainesville Public Library). In addition to its many cultural attractions, Gainesville has experienced significant growth over recent years due to its role as an agricultural center for eastern Texas. In 1810, Nicholas-Jacques Conte designed an improved espresso pot that allowed for greater purity and flavor than earlier machines. This new machine made it possible for Italians to produce high-quality cups of espresso without having to travel far offsite to purchase beans. The popularity of espresso soon spread throughout Europe, leading to its becoming a key part of many people's morning routine. In North America, however, coffee wasn't until after independence been widely adopted as a primary beverage. Prior to this time, American colonists drank various alcoholic drinks such as rum and whiskey which gave them what some would call "the Triangle Trade" – that is: items originating from British colonies (primarily Canada) went into French Canadian hands (for export), while products exported from French Canadian hands ended up in British Columbia (where they were fermented). Gainesville, Texas is a small town in the U.S. state of Texas that was founded in 1856 by James Gaines and his wife Sally. The name is derived from the English word "gain," meaning "to take." Gainesville has a population of about 8,000 people today, and it is the county seat for Hidalgo County. The first Europeans to visit Gainesville were French traders who landed there in 1799. In 1836, Pedro Menéndez de Avilés discovered what would become Gainesville when he explored the area as part of his explorations of New Mexico and Arizona. He named the place Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz after Emperor Ferdinand III of Spain's capital in Madrid. In 1856, James Prentice Gaines settled here with his family and began developing land which he would sell to settlers over time. By 1870, most of present-day Gainesville had been developed and renamed Nicholsville after General JB Nichols (1814-1892), a Confederate general who fought during the American Civil War on behalf of the South. At that time, Gainesville had a population of around 100 people and was known as an agricultural center with cornfields and cattle drives being its main industry. During World War II, many local citizens served in the military; among them were my namesake James Prentice Gainsville (1910-1989). After serving in World War II as captain for the Marine Corps Reserve unit USS Seawolf (CVN 74), Gainsville returned home to serve as mayoraltyibrarian from 1963 until his death at age 92 years old in 1989. Gainesville's economy changed significantly following Hurricane Katrina when much property was destroyed or lost due to flooding caused by Ritaocyclone Harvey on August 29th 2005 - one week before Christmas - making it one of hardest hit towns in southeastern Texas . Although some businesses have reopened since then, most residents have yet to return home or resume their normal lives post-Katrina In addition to rebuilding efforts underway throughout northeastern Texas , several hundred volunteers are working nonstop providing aid such as clean up operations at various disaster sites across Greater Houston area
On November 5, 1836, Gainesville was founded by James Hogg and his family. The town grew rapidly due to the accessibility of land and the availability of water resources. By 1840, Gainesville had a population of over 100 people. In 1848, the Texas Legislature passed a bill declaring that all Mexican nationals living in Texas were required to leave within three months. The Hoggs were among the first Mexicans forced out of their home state. They took their possessions with them and settled in Gainesville. In 1850, they sold their holdings in Gainesville to John Pemberton for $2,000. Pemberton started a cotton plantation in Gainesville and used the money from his plantations to support the growth of Gainesville. In 1865, he donated land to establish what is now Baylor University.
