In 1907, the Fredericksburg National Battlefield Commission was created by Congress and it became responsible for managing all aspects of the battlefield including military installations. In 1912, artillery batteries were again moved to Fredericksburg when Fort Worth was designated as a national military park. The battery at 5th Street & Elm Streets served as Battery A until 1919 when it was reactivated at Camp Bowie east of town. It played an important role in World War I before being decommissioned in 1924 and sold to private individuals. It reverted back to government control after World War II ended. From 1951-1970, it housed the Flagstaff Arsenal Museum which is now open to the public daily 9am-5pm except Mondays when they are closed due to museum exhibits. Fredericksburg, Texas is a small town located in the state of Texas, about 35 miles east of Houston. The population was 8,724 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The Fredericksburg area was founded by James Fenton in 1836 and named for him. The original town consisted of just a few homes and a schoolhouse. By 1840, there were over 100 residents living in what is now Fredericksburg. In 1849, General Sam Houston County was formed from parts of Sam Houston Parish and the community quickly grew to become an important stop on the road between Houston and Dallas. In 1859, General Edward Houstoun bought land north of Fredericksburg for $10,000 and began construction on what would become Houstoun's Rancho de las Fairbanks. This ranch included 8(), acres (3 ha), later increased to 24(), acres (8 ha). Due to its large size it took many years for development to occur around this site; however, eventually it became one of the most important cotton plantations in Texas. In 1865, Confederate General Robert Ewell purchased some land nearby from Houstoun; this property served as his headquarters during Operation Market Garden during World War II. After the war ended, much of this acreage was sold off and used for grazing purposes until being acquired by Baylor University in 1969 who built their main campus on it (later renamed Baylor University Hospital). A major event that occurred in Fredericksburg during this time period was the Battle of Chancellorsville which took place on April 12th 1862 near present day Arlington National Cemetery; Union forces under General Ulysses S Grant successfully defended against Confederate efforts to drive them out with heavy losses including 7 officers dead and 26 wounded along with 4 cannons captured from Confederate forces.) This victory helped solidify Union control over eastern Virginia while helping turn back Confederate attempts to reestablish themselves in North Carolina and Tennessee followingedesignationoftheUnion States Of America by Abraham Lincoln on November14th 1860

Fredericksburg, Texas is a small town located in the Mexican state of Veracruz. The community was founded in 1881 by American settler John P. Hettinger, who named it for his ancestor, General George Washington Hettinger. It became a U.S. military and civilian outpost during the Mexican-American War (1846-1847). The town's namesake and first settler, General George Washington Hettinger, fought in that war as a lieutenant colonel and later served as mayor of Fredericksburg from 1871 to 1875. He donated land to the town near what is now its courthouse square. Hettinger's grandson, John P. Hetinger II, continued his father's business practices and developed the local cotton gin and other industry while also building a school and chapel in the early years of Fredericksburg's existence. In 1911, he donated $20,000 to help build the current Baptist Church on Main Street. The church was dedicated on October 6th of that year by Rear Admiral David Dixon Porter Jr., commander of United States Naval Forces Mexico at that time.
