El Campo, Texas is a small town located in the heart of Midland County. Started as an agricultural community, El Campo has seen its share of both military and civilian activity over the years. The first known mention of El Campo occurred in 1847 when Mexican General Perfecto Madero mentioned it on his way to visit the ranchos of Santa Anna and Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. By 1860, El Campo had become a thriving community with a population of around 100 people. The early days of tactical coffee were spent growing beans and grinding them into coffee powder for ritual use by members of the local Indian tribe. In 1865, Captain John Capps opened what would become one of Texas' first coffeehouses, The Pioneer House in downtown El Campo. Even after coming to America, Juan Pedro Hidalgo was interested in learning about brewing methods from Denmark's Lieutenant Colonel Frederik Pohlmann who lived in Austin at that time. In 1867 Hidalgo returned to Mexico City and began brewing coffee under the supervision of Santiago Gomez y Morales atelier while awaiting orders from Emperor Maximilian II to start a war against United States forces that had invaded Mexico three months earlier. On October 8th 1867 Gomez y Morales published a paper entitled "Brewing Coffee" in Spanish language in the journal "El Universal". This document is considered to be the first article discussing coffee brewing Techniques used today. In 1869 Hidalgo went back to Austin and resumed production under new management but remained inactive until March 1870 when he received orders from Emperor Maximilian II authorizing him once again to brew coffee for military purposes only - this time within Mexican territory not within American jurisdiction as before. On April 10th 1870 Captain John Capps reopened The Pioneer House as Headquarters for Mexican Coffee Company effective May 1st 1870 with Captain J A Goudreau as Manager/Operator./Brewer/ trouble shooter etc.. It was here thatCaptain Goudreau met future TX Governor Tom Perry who worked at The Pioneer House during those early years! It wasn't until 1876 when Captain Goudreau moved his operations westward along I-15 (now US 287) near San Angelo where he established himself as one oftxthe leading exporters and processors of Tactical Coffee throughout much parts Central America including Belize & Guatemala . He continued trading goods bearing his "Mexican Coffee" name through out these many years even serving briefly as Mayor & Councilman Of San Angelo during World War II! During WWII Captains Harry Rowe & Floyd Bales operated an air-dropping coffeemaker called 'Bales Canopy' off USS Mesa Verde (AGS-5) off California Coast on July 25 1944 dropping daily 2 metric tons(4800 lbs) worthvicofalpina beans Deadly dose Vibrio cholerae causing death To all aboard! El Campo, Texas is a small town in Hidalgo County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Brownsville–Houston Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town began as a cattle ranch and agricultural community in 1881. The first school was built in 1883 and the first post office was established in 1886. El Campo became an incorporated municipality on February 2, 1907. The name comes from Spanish "el campo" meaning "the field". In 1911, oil wells were drilled in nearby Pecos County and soon there were large businesses and homes developing around them; these early residents called themselves "campistas". By 1915 there were over 100 people living downtown and it had become an important commercial center for Hidalgo County's oil production. In 1916 the first electric streetcar service arrived to serve the town; by 1920 electricity had been extended to all parts of town with telephone service coming two years later. During World War II most of El Campo's buildings were used as military barracks or storage facilities; however they still remain intact today as some evidence suggests that they may have been damaged during the war but are still standing because they are not subject to city zoning laws which governs building demolition ordinances. After the war many people left El Campo for other cites such as Houston or San Antonio due to high cost of living or lack of opportunity within Hidalgo county following ratification of statehood within Texas on November 16th, 1931 which followed Mexican-American Migration into Texas from various areas across North America during this time period known as the Great American Migration including El Campo itself whereupon jobs opportunities opened up for those who could ride trains out westward from Dallas/Fort Worth along route 66 until their destinations including California etc., This included my great grandfather who came through heremany times including being employed at Pacific Electric Railway Company located just east of town prior to his employment with Western Electric Railway Company headquartered just south of town after leaving home when I was youngest sibling

El Campo is a small town located in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,693 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in El Campo were the Lipans who arrived in 1836. They named their community "Lipan". In 1876, a group of German immigrants settled here and called themselves the Nittendorfer. For many years, El Campo was known as "Nigger Country" because black Americans were not allowed to live there. However, with the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, El Campo began to change its name to honor its African American residents. Today, El Campo is home to over 100 African American citizens who help support and promote local businesses and culture here. Many important events have occurred in El Campo's history such as when on November 15th 1904 another community called Pleasant Grove was destroyed by a fire that started near Cottonwood Creek (now Guadalupe Creek). This event helped start what would become known as the "Texas Revolution". Many boxcars filled with goods from San Antonio made their way into Hudspeth County during this time and caused havoc because they could not be unloaded until after dark due to licensing restrictions from Texas State Department of Transportation officials stationed in Austin. After months of chaos and delay, most of these goods were finally unloaded on December 5th 1904 by a small contingent of men led by John Fenton Cobb and under his direction became known as "The Daybreak Column". In 1907 an oil well was drilled within sight of present day ElCampo; however it never produced any oil due to lack of technology at that time. In 1946 an all-day drive across Hudspeth County ended with commander Lt. Col Erwin Rommel's unit liberating several towns along I-35 including El Campo from Mexican Nationalists during Operation Crossroads which helped open up much needed trade between Texans and Mexicans living in those parts at that time! An interesting side note about this incident is that Colonel Rommel's unit had just completed one weeklong march through central Texas when they crossed into Hudspeth County – setting off what would become known as one of America’s most notorious border incidents! In 1978 Representative Lloyd Doggett moved legislation through both housesof Congress recognizing Hispanic heritage in Texas but no action being taken until 1985 when then Governor George W Bush signed A bill designating Community Development block grant funds for Hispanics residing in Travis County specifically within unincorporated areas east/northwest Of Travis & Manor Streets - creating La Casa de la Hispanidad (Spanish for 'House of Spanish Heritage'). Unfortunately similar legislation has been failed each year since then without significant progress being made - leavingEl Camptonians feeling left out & disenfranchised despite overwhelming evidence otherwise! As mentioned before many influential people have resided or played some role in making changes or advancements around here such as Drayton Coleman Sr., Mayor Bob Willis and current Mayor Darrell Steinberg among others... let's move forward together & make sure our community continues thriving!"
