The El Campo Air Force Base was established in 1945 as an air force station in the town of El Campo. The base served as a primary training and storage depot for the United States Air Force. In 1967, the base was redesignated as an air defense wing and was enlarged to include a jet aircraft range. The wing celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2000 by launching the first aerial refueling mission from El Campo AFB. From 2003-2006, El Campo AFB hosted Operation Iraqi Freedom, during which time it played a significant role in providing fighters and bombers to coalition forces involved in the war against Saddam Hussein. In 2006, EL CAMPO ABERDEEN AIR FORCE BASEopened located adjacent to IHOP on FM 587 about 2 miles east of hometown of El Campo AFB; this new airport is home to 6 Wing RAF Tornado GR4s that provide support for operations throughout North America with Operation Noble Eagle including supporting Joint Task Force - Pacific (JTF-PAC) airstrikes against militants targets on Hokkaido Island north of Japan. The following year saw another significant milestone when EL CAMPO ABERDEEN AIR FORCE BASE opened their Terminal 3 facility; this new terminal offers more than 12 acres of Concourse A lounge, three restaurants, two observation decks and a large accessrium that can accommodate up to 350 guests at any one time. This innovative facility allows controllers and passengers alike easy access to all aspects of the airport while ensuring seamless passenger flow through both terminals.

The El Campo Air Force Station was opened in 1942 as the El Campo Field Base. It served as a training and testing ground for the USAAF during World War II. In 1946, it became Headquarters, Headquarters Squadron (A) 9th Bombardment Wing and later Headquarters, Ninth Air Force. The wing moved from El Campo to Seymour Johnson AFB, NC in 1957 and then to MacDill AFB, FL in 1962. The 9th BW moved back to El Campo in 1967 and discontinued operations at Seymour Johnson AFB. In 1975, the USAF sold the airfield to Texaco Incorporated and it became home to TX-6Texaco Military Airport. It served as an Auxiliary airport until 1990 when it was closed due to budget cuts by Texaco Incorporated.
El Campo is a city in Webb County, Texas, United States. The population was 10,811 as of the 2010 census. The city is located in the central part of Webb County and lies at an elevation of 903 feet (258 m). It is named after José María El Campo y Costilla, one of the two founders of the Republic of Texas. The first post office in El Campo opened on April 25, 1879. At that time it was known as Rancho de las Brisas. The town grew up around cattle ranching activities until World War II when steel production got started in nearby Big Spring and led to a growth in downtown business activity. Downtown businesses have since been replaced by technology businesses such as Googleplex and Facebook which have all made their mark on El Campo over the years. Most people who live in El Campo are agricultural workers or retirees from out-of-state who move here for its unique climate and scenery. However there are also some professional fishermen living hereabouts who salt water fishing tournaments from October through May each year near Corpus Christi Bayou
There has been a long and varied history of airforce gift history. Air Force Command has bestowed gifts on members of the military, civilians, and other organizations since 1947. The vast majority of these gifts have been practical in nature- such as new uniforms or equipment- but there have also been a few more unique items. One example is the 1957 presentation to General Curtis LeMay of anindexed set of slides depicting USAF strategic bomber operations around the world. Thisset was later exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution. Another unique gift was given to US Senator Ted Kennedy in 1984 by Chief Master Sgt. John Fulkerson, who served as Chairman of the Air National Guard Bureau at that time. The donation consisted of a kit containing all the necessary tools for rebuilding an old World War II fighter aircraft after it had become stranded in Canada due to a technical problem with its engine). The most recent air force gift history can be found through donations made by members of the military and civilian communities alike in 2018. This year’s recipient is United States Marine Corps Lt. Col., Maxwell Treadwell with his donation consisting of two F-18 Hornets received new engines and avionics along with spare parts for both jets. In addition, five similar jets were donated by other service branches during 2017; this shows just how commonairforce gifting has become over recent years!

El Campo is a small town in the U.S. state of Texas, located about 28 miles (45 km) east of Fort Worth and 12 miles (19 km) south-southeast of Arlington. As of the 2010 census, its population was 1,827. The first post office at El Campo was established on January 10, 1875. The current building was built in 1907 and serves as the town hall today. The name "El Campo" comes from Rancho de la Paloma granted to Francisco Camargo by General Antonio López de Santa Anna in 1836. The Camargos sold the land to James Womack in 1872 for $4,000 plus interest and fees payable every year until it expired in 1880. In 1881 Womack transferred ownership of the ranch to Averill Harriman who donated it to the State of Texas in memory of his father John Marshall Harriman Jr.. On July 16, 1886, El Campo became a city with a population of 567 people when it merged with Fort Worth. El Campo, Texas was founded in 1836 as a small community on the banks of the Rio Grande. The town grew rapidly and soon became a major center for cattle ranching and shipping. In 1853, El Campo was named after General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, who had fought in Mexico's independence campaign. The town experienced a boom period in the late 19th century, thanks to its location at the crossroads of two major trails connecting North America with Europe. However, by World War I El Campo had declined back to its pre-war levels of population and economy. After the war, however, El Campo began to experience a resurgence as a commercial center and cultural hub. Today, it remains an important stop on Route 66.
