The Edinburg Army Depot was a military installation in Edinburg, Texas that served as the primary depot of the United States Army during World War II. The depot was closed in 1946 and its assets were transferred to the Fort Worth Army Depot.

Edinburg is a small town located in Starr County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,871 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Starr County. The first courthouse in Edinburg was built in 1853 and served as the seat of government for both Starr and Orange counties until it burned down in 1865. A new courthouse was erected in 1872 and served as the county seat until it also burned down in 1865. The present courthouse was built between 1907 and 1911 and serves as the county Seat today. Edinburg was originally named "Sugar Land" after two local plantations which produced sugarcane for export to Europe. In 1846, an act by Congress changed the name to "Edinburg" after Major General James Fenton Edin (1786-1858), who commanded American forces during Mexican War (1846-48). The Nacogdoches Indian tribe had been occupying land near what is now Edinburg since before European settlement began. In 1851, General Sam Houston called a meeting of all Indian tribes in Nacogdoches to discuss ways to resettle them on his lands east of San Antonio River because he believed their presence would help prevent Native American raids into Quanah Parker's territory west of that river. At this meeting, representatives from five different tribes arrived with proposals for how they should be reorganized: one group proposed that each tribe create its own government with elected officials; another group wanted a commission from Houston to negotiate with Mexico regarding their interests; yet another group favored making all Indians part of a single government under Spanish rule; while still others wanted no contact with any white people whatsoever until their tribal leaders agreed to these proposals. All seven groups presented their ideas at the meeting and then took them back home to discuss further details with their tribal leaders before submitting them formally to Houston for consideration. Afterward,Houston decided not to pursue any specific plans related thereto but instead appointed three commissioners - John Lubbock (a military general), James Bowie (a lawyer) & George Brazier (an engineer) -to look over each proposal and provide recommendations within sixty days or so.. Upon receiving these recommendations,Houston issued orders authorizing development on selected parcels of land north of San Antonio River including those aforementioned 7 groups' submissions plus 500 acres around Santa Anna Dam which were reserved for irrigation purposes only due to concerns about possible flooding if such projects were initiated without proper planning & coordination! On July 3rd,1851,Edinburgh came intobeing when Stonewall Jackson's army successfully defeated an invading force led by Governor David Cullum& 150 Confederate militiamen at Ramrod Station%. This victory inspired Texans throughout Southwest Texas & adjacent Oklahoma who saw themselves as victimized by southern aggression (& thusly supported Texan independence efforts) while Mexicans saw this event as an opportunity For revenge against Mexico since they felt California had already gained full control over portions of Texas following Mexican withdrawal from that state...thus giving Texans hope that they could eventually regain lost territory thru peaceful means or through war if necessary! As word spread about this event among Texans living west of San Antonio River (& especially those living along what became known as the Alamo Road), more settlers began arrive in droves seeking fortune & adventure amongst scraggly brushy hills just outside town limits...thus forming what would become known as "the frontier". As time passed & development slowed due largely TO lack of money/interest from various interested parties including Govt., businessmen/landowners etc., Edinburg grew increasingly commercialized & industrialized resulting in increased Poverty rates among its citizens despite low per capita income relative to other parts OF TX (& even USA!). By 1870s most residents hereabouts had become self-employed men working mainly off farm incomes supplemented by sporadic stints inside city limits pasturing livestock or manufacturing goods outfitting tourists visiting Starr County during Stock Show Days festivities which usually ended up lasting several weeks...henceforth known locally simply as "Stockade City". In 1896 however things started changing when US Attorney General Charles Evans Hughes announced plans To build a new federal court building downtown which would serve both Starr County AND Dallas County (& concurrent business functions thereof)...this caused much consternationamongst many locals who felt like THEIR community WAS goingTo suffer collateral damage(since court services IN Dallas COUNTY Would have been moved inland nearer Colt Stadium rather than downtown)... consequently 4th Ward Alderman Silas Hinton sponsored an ordinance promising THAT NO BUSINESSES WILL BE DECLOSED NOR MONEY FOR THE NEW COURT BUILDING UNTIL EITHER HIS PARTY OR THE COUNCIL’S DOCTRINE IS ADDRESSED TO BY A SPECIFIC PLAN BENEATH WASHINGTON STREET NEAR DALLAS HOTEL). Due largely TO public outcry(which continued unabated well INTO THE 1920s despite numerous threats made against EDINBURGH BY PRESIDENT Warren Harding!),Harding relented upon learning THAT HIS GOVERNMENT WAS NOT ABLE TO PAY FOR THEbuilding WITHOUT MAKING SOME OTHER TYPE OF PENDENCY(like PATENT PENDENCY)...thus allowing local businesses w/out interruption Of operations ANYHOW! This event marks oneofmany examples where community activism comes together AGAINST NOTICE(& often succeeds!)despite odds being otherwise stacked In favor Of establishment 2

The history of the army deployed gift has been going on for a long time. It began with the ancient Greeks and Romans who would send gifts to their military allies in order to show their support. From then on, the Gifts have been a part of every military relationship. Today, there are many different types of gifts that can be sent to an army deployment, from flowers to candy bars. Some people choose to send items that are specific to the unit or regiment that is being deployed, such as T-shirts or hats. Others may just send general items like clothes or cookbooks in order to show appreciation for all that the troops are doing for their country. Whatever type of gift you choose to send, be sure to make sure it is something that will appreciate and remind your loved ones of what they are fighting for.

Army deployments are a common way to give gifts to loved ones. Sometimes the gifts are small, like a bookmark or pen, but other times they can be bigger things. A few examples of larger items include an army uniform or service dog.

Edinburg, Texas is a small town located in Hudspeth County, Texas. The population was 1,821 at the 2000 census. It is the smallest city in Texas and is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The community was founded by wagon train drivers in 1849 as a stop on their way to San Antonio. By 1865, the town had grown to include a clinic, school and post office. In 1879, Edinburg became an independent municipality with its own government and fire department. The first postmaster was James Henton. In 1907, Edinburg became one of several communities along the East Side Railroad to become part of Round Rock when that line was extended into Hudspeth County from Austin. Edinburg experienced some important changes during World War II: its military base opened up for training pilots; civilian workers helped build ammunition dumps; and many residents came to work in nearby industries such as Ford Motors Company and Raytheon Missile Systems Division headquarters. After the war ended, Edinburg continued to grow as new businesses popped up such as Jardine Peake Paper Products and United States Steel Corporation. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, Edinburg experienced significant growth due to development around Interstate 35W which has made it easier for people living near I-35W to commute into downtown Austin or other parts of TX without having to leave their neighborhoods

Edinburg was founded in 1853 by a group of Scottish immigrants. The town became an important stop on the Texas Railroad network and prospered until the late 19th century, when it went through a period of economic decline. In the 1920s, Edinburg experienced a burst of growth as its manufacturing sector began to rebound following World War I. However, this prosperity eventually evaporated during the Great Depression, and in the 1940s Edinburg experienced serious population declines. In recent years, however, the town has seen renewed growth as it becomes increasingly popular for its natural resources and its location within close proximity to several major metropolitan areas.
