In that year, the Patton's son, George Patton Jr., reopened the store under the name of Patton Coffee and Tea Company. The business continued until 1959 when it closed again due to lack of customers. In 1961, the Patton's daughter-in-law, Marilee Perrys opened a small cafe on Highway 281 near downtown called Perrys Coffee which continued until 1978. In that year, Marilee Perrys passed away and her husband John started the Keep It real Coffee company which operated until 1984. In 1985, Duncanville merchants voted to establish its own city hall and adopted a resolution establishing itself as an independent city with its own ordinances and revenue stream. The company that operated the police department from 1948 through 1984 retired after 45 years service and was donated to the city for use as an historical museum. Duncanville is a town in Cameron County, Texas, United States. The population was 6,527 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1881 by Scots-Irish Americans who moved from their farmstead in nearby Waxahachie to what is now Duncanville after the Mexican–American War. They named it for General John A. Duncan, Commander of American forces in Mexico City during that war. The first post office was opened in 1882 and the first school was built on land donated by James McGregor in 1884. In 1907, Duncanville became an incorporated municipality with a mayor and a two-member board of trustees. In 1970, it became one of eight independent municipalities within the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area; it remains an unincorporated community today. In 2001, Duncanville experienced its only tornado outbreak when seven tornadoes touched down across the town over three days; all but one were rated EF0 or less.

Duncanville is a small town in Kerr County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wichita Falls–Hutchinson Micropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Duncanville" comes from James Duncan and his family who settled there in 1849. In 1903, the American Telephone and Telegraph Company built its first line through the town and named it after its founder, Alexander Graham Bell. Duncanville's post office closed on July 8, 1951, but the community continued to use the name until 1984 when it changed to Duncanville-Wichita Falls. The first settler in what is now Duncanville was James Duncan who came from Scotland in 1849 and started a farm near present day Wichita Falls with his wife Agnes (née Robertson). They had two children: John and Margaret (Lovett). James died young at age 36 years old while trying to build a road through an Indian reservation which he shared with other settlers. His widow married John Lovett Jr., who also founded nearby Hutchinson about one mile away from where today’s Duncanville stands. In 1903, ATC built their first line through town—the only one in Kerr County then—and named it after their founder Alexander Graham Bell! The Post Office opened on July 8th 1951 using this new name; however due to high demand for mail service those days services continued under rancher Frank Sprague’s “Duncanvilian Mail Service” until 1984 when they became independent as Duncannon-Wichita Falls! Today both towns continue To fiercely compete against each other for tourism dollars!
