The first coffee shop in Deer Park opened in 1907. The business was called the Coffee House and served iced coffee and croissants. The shop closed in the 1940s, but a cafe called Dutch Bros. still exists today. In 1974, the CoffeeHouse was reopened as a small-batch coffee shop known as The Beans.

Deer Park is a small town in Medina County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,953 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area. Deer Park was founded in 1887 by John and Jennie Deer. The first post office was established in 1886. It moved to its current site in 1892. The land for the town was donated by James E. McClendon, who also donated land for the Houston Ship Channel and other infrastructure projects in what is now Sugar Land. A total of $5 million was raised to buy the land from citizens and businesses throughout Medina and Harris counties during the 1990s through a combination of grants, private donations, and voter approval ballots. In 2006, deer were removed from portions of both Post 9 Ranch east of Deer Park (the original location) due to complaints about their numbers being too high; this event served as a catalyst for community activism against hunting on public lands within general county jurisdiction without following state or federal regulations that provide for non-hunting uses such as conservation purposes or scientific research with animal populations). In 2008 an amendment to §27-2-101(a), which regulates deer hunting on public property within general county jurisdiction via Open Hunting Regulations Act (OHRA), became effective providing that all deer harvested must be tagged/tagged/caught and collected pursuant to §27-2-202(a)(3). Deer Park, Texas is a small town located in the Midland county of Texas. It was founded by John Fenton in 1881 and named for Deerskin Park, which he acquired from the Creek Indians. The town became a vital transportation center during the early years of the Mexican-American War because it was located on the Santa Fe Trail. Deer Park also served as a stop on stagecoaches traveling between Austin and New Mexico. The town declined after World War II, but has seen a resurgence in recent decades thanks to its proximity to Houston and its status as a bedroom community for residents of Houston's Montrose neighborhood.

Deer Park was founded in 1881 by John J. Deere, who donated land to the town. The first school was built in 1882, and the first store opened in 1885. The city was annexed by McAllen in 1907, and Deer Park became a separate municipality. In 1941, the city merged with McAllen to form the current metropolitan area of McAllen-Deer Park.
