The Crowley Marine Museum is a special place that preserves the history of Crowley, Texas. The museum has exhibits on marine gifts and origins. One of the most popular exhibitions at the museum is “Marine Gifts from Around the World” which includes items from countries all over the world. Crowley was founded in 1907 by Captain Samuel P. Crowley and his family. The Crowley Marine Museum collection reflects this history with artifacts from both local and international sources. In addition to maritime gifts, the museum also has a large collection of fossils and minerals. The museum is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day from 9 A.M.–5 P.M., Closed on Mondays. Admission is free for individuals or families with an ID card or children under 12 years old are admitted for $4 per person per day when accompanied by an adult paying cash or checks only. For groups of 10 or more people, admission is $8 per person/$6 for children 4-11 years old concessions are available at various locations around town including the Cunningham Branch Library (at 11th & Broadway), Sam’s Club (at Buchanan Rd & US 287), Johnny Appleseed Park (just east of I-10 exit 235) and Walmart Supercenter located off I-10 exit 191 near Loop 604 ( Exit 176).

Crowley as a station on the Railroadtown &western Railway. In 1907, they donated 2 square miles (3 km²) of land to be used as an agricultural township with a post office and schoolhouse built thereon. By 1912 it had been renamed Crowley Junction after John P. Crowley's death that year and it became known as that until 1955 when it again became known as Crowley, Texas
