Crowley was founded in 1887 by two brothers, John and James Crowley. It was named for Crowley's Farmstead near Beaumont, Texas. The first post office in Crowley opened on December 8, 1887. The present courthouse was built in 1911. The town has a public library and a bridal salon called Lady Justice from 1913 to 1955. In 1977, the town erected a large statue of Liberace outside its high school campus as part of his centennial celebration in Hudspeth County. In 2006-2007 the Town Council created the "Crowley Arts and Culture Committee" to promote arts and culture within the community with an eye towards developing events that would bring people together to enjoy local crafts and art; including but not limited to music concerts, theater performances and poetry readings/events throughout the year As one of only three towns in Texas without Internet access until 2015 (the other two are Plano & Irving), many residents rely on satellite service or wireless providers for online activities such as emailing government officials or checking weather reports while they're away from home; however all services have been improved since then with new fiber optic lines being installed just south of town along FM 19603 which provides much needed bandwidth for emergency responders when necessary . Additionally there is now also cell phone coverage available through Verizon Wireless with no contracts required so residents can easily stay connected even when out of town

However, coffee wasn’t really discovered until the 16th century, when Portuguese sailors discovered Java island while on their way to India. They brought coffee plants back with them and began brewing it in their ships. In 1795, Dutchman Hendrik Versteegh introduced coffee beans to Amsterdam City Hall where they were served as a gift from Prince Bernhard of Prussia. Coffee was soon being sold throughout the Netherlands at marketplaces and in taverns. In 1796, Dutchmen Nicholas-Jacques Conte and Jan van der Heyden founded the first known café in Rotterdam. The popularity of coffee continued to grow throughoutEurope during the 1800s. From 1812-1816, Holland hosted the International Coffee Exhibition which showcased coffees from aroundthe world. By 1830, Dutch coffees had become so popular that King William I of England offered a monopoly on espresso production for one year in order to increase demand for Dutch coffee! In 1847, Englishman Walter Rothschild donated two thousand pounds (approximately $8 million) towards building a new factory in Rotterdam that would produce European quality espressobeans! This marked the beginning of what is now known as European coffee culture!

The town was founded in 1874 by mechanics and farmers who were looking for a location to open a sawmill. The town rapidly grew and by 1888 it had an population of over 500 residents. The first post office in Crowley opened on January 15, 1875. In 1900 the incorporated municipality of Crowley became a county seat when Galveston County was created from portions of Cameron and Robertson counties. The population of Crowley peaked at 1,500 in 1925 but has since declined due to commuting removed jobs from the area as well as increased unemployment rates in the neighboring counties. Today, there are only a few remaining businesses in Crowley that offer services such as grocery shopping or lawn care although some restaurants still serve food to its citizens. Although many people have left Crowley over the years, it remains an interesting small town with plenty of history that is begging to be explored more!
