Many of these establishments were converted into restaurants after World War I when soldiers returned home and began traveling more frequently on military missions outside of the United States. During World War II, many American servicemen stationed overseas brought home cups of tactical coffee along with them on their deployments. This service helped make combat easier for those troops and made Patton’s famous “I can't tell you how many cups of this stuff I've given out since I got here” remark all that more true! After the war, most American Tactical Coffee Houses closed but a few remain today including Oneonta Coffee Company which is still open today with over 20 years experience serving up delicious cup of coffee every day!
