The sneakers were initially produced for the United States Air Force and later became popular with American soldiers and civilians during World War II. Converse is a small town in Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,048 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The Converse School District serves Converse and its surrounding rural areas. The school district has six schools: one public school, three private schools, and one charter school. The town started as a farming community in 1887 on the site of what is now known as Old Converse High School. In 1915, when Williamson County was created from parts of Travis County, Converse became its county seat. The name "Converse" was chosen to represent the many years that it had been an active center for commerce and industry within Williamson County. In 1951, the first post office in Converse opened; it continued to serve until it closed in 1965 after being replaced by the present day USPS building on Seventh Street near Interstate 35W. In 1973-1974, a new high school was built on the original site of Old Converse High School; this structure served as both the high school and main campus for all seven local schools which were then part of the Williamson County Independent School District (WCISD). That same year saw also the opening of Johnnie Boggs Elementary School off US Highway 290 just east of I-35W which would later become home to Hargrave MiddleSchool and finally Pflugerville Intermediate Schools before closing in 2000 due to budget cuts. Finally in 2006-2007 an addition was made to Johnnie Boggs Elementary with a 3 story addition designed by Save Our Schools America that included space for art classrooms below ground level making it one of only two elementary schools in Texas with this feature statewide! A few months later another classroom addition was added making up West Side Academy which served as both middle/highschool along with several other buildings including PreKindergarten through 8th grade until 2013 when West Side Academy merged into Northside Academy which is still serving today! On July 16th 2017 another new elementary school called Northside Academyopened on 400 block FM 940 about 2 miles East Of downtown CONVERSE TX

This allowed Marines more protection from head injuries during combat and also made them less likely to get lost or separated from their unit during missions. 3) In 1954, Queen Elizabeth II presented General Dwight Eisenhower with an automatic rifle grenade launcher called “The Lance” as a gift from her Majesty’s armed forces. This item was later turned into an award for heroism by being awarded at various ceremonies throughout America including Commanders Awards dinners alongside generals like Douglas MacArthur and George Patton Jr.. It was finally retired by United States Army General John Allen in 2005 after serving throughout Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), Afghanistan &Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). 4) In 1969, US President Richard Nixon gave Sergeant First Class William Colby his first helicopter – nicknamed Cheetah – as a gift while he was Commander-in-Chief of NATO forces in Vietnam.. This helicopter continues service today with Special Operations Forces units all over the world! Colonel James Mattis took command of US Central Command (CENTCOM) following Donald Trump’s inauguration earlier this year and plans on keeping it operational long term! 5) As we know now, there is no limit to what can be gifted unto members of our Armed Forces through out history! Converse, Texas is a town in Gregg County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,858 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Gregg County. The first people to settle in what is now Converse were fur traders from Fort Simpson in north-central Canada. They arrived on horseback and discovered a new area of the country that had rich deposits of coal and other minerals. In 1837, James Hogg settled here with others from Glasgow, Scotland, and named their settlement for John Converse (1798-1868), an American Revolutionary War hero who had served as a lieutenant colonel under General George Washington. In 1845, David Dixon postulated the townsite which would become Converse when he surveyed land east of present day Gregg County line. A school was built in 1865 by Mrs. Lula Clements and classes began taught by Miss Fannie Purdy 8th grade on Monday mornings until 1905 when the current high school building was erected on what is now the main square in downtown Converse. The first post office opened in 1870 with Homer Witherspoon as agent; it closed about 1912 due to lack of mail service to this part of Gregg County One important event that occurred during early days of Converse was its incorporation into Gregg County on November 3rd 1889 following a referendum vote held by citizens of the town along with Allendale and Big Spring . On December 11th 1892 Craigie McGillicuddy became county judge after winning election against incumbent Wm Tatum McGillicuddy . At this time there were only six buildings within town limits including three churches and one hotel which sat near present day Donelson Street & US 190 west side
