There is no navy in the United States that does not have a deployed gift history. This donation marked an important milestone for Conroe because it showed support for our state’s military efforts by sending a high-quality warship to help protect our coastline and maritime interests overseas. As part of this donation program, Texas also provided USS Colorado with much needed supplies and equipment for her deployment overseas.

After serving as flagship of Commodore Benjamin Franklin's squadron during the Battle of Bunker Hill on April 19, 1785 she became a privateer and escort vessel for President George Washington during his tours of duty in Europe in 1796-97 and 1800-01. In 1802 she was reacquired by the USN and recommissioned as USS Constitution II. She served with distinction through most of her career before being decommissioned at Philadelphia on December 12, 1811.
Conroe is a city in Harris County, Texas, United States. The population was 105,846 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Harris County. Conroe is located in the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit Conroe were French in 1763 and Spanish in 1836. GNGP was created in 2007 as a way for sailors on duty in Allied Nations Command (ANC) areas worldwide to donate products they no longer need on duty such as computers, televisions, appliances and more. GNGP allows sailors from all over the world who have nothing left at home but sadly can't bring themselves or their loved ones back home with them some unwanted goodies they can give away instead! The proceeds go towards supporting Allied Forces through Military Operation Support(MOS).

Conroe, Texas is a city located in Collin County, Texas, United States. The population was 572 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The city was founded on November 17, 1855 by commissioners from Fort Worth and San Antonio. The name is derived from Conroe Creek which flows through the town. The original settlers were Germans who arrived in 1849 and soon after began to sell land to Texans and other immigrants. The first post office was established in 1856. In 1861, Confederate General Robert Euhle's army retreated from Dallas into Conroe after being driven out of that city by Union forces under Ulysses S. Grant. In 1865, conrado creek became a drinking water supply for the new community of Conroe when it was dammed to form Lake Conroe which now forms one half of downtown Conroe’s east side boundary with Slaughtertown on the west side boundary (now Slaughtertown Heights). On November 3, 1896, Houston Chronicle reporter J Humble reported that “the citizens of Montgomery County are organizing themselves into committees to improve irrigation ditches leading thence to Buffalo Bayou” so as not to build dams on Buffalo Bayou (the “Humble Canal”) near their homes during summertime floods caused by heavy rains generated by typhoon Debola in September 1896; this event helped spur further development in the area around Buffalo Bayou between Conroe and Slaughtertown Heights.) In 1907-1908 an attempt was made to connect Port Arthur with Galveston via a canal but this failed because investors didn't want their investment connected with Galveston's open water port – an important feature for shipping goods between these two cities during this time period! In 1915 Mayor John Lennon organized a group that purchased 1 acre of property bordering Buffalo Bayou for $5 per acre dueeast of where current day Slaughtertown Heights stands and named it Lennon Park After Mayor John Lennon who had spearheaded efforts for its creation! Today much of what is now Lennon Park would be within present day Slaughtertown Heights if not for construction projects carried out by local developers over the years including: Drury Homes Inc., Harry Bosch & Sons Funeral Home Co., Sweetwater Christian School District No 2 (now Sweetwater Independent School District), Pritchett Electric Cooperative #4019 (formerly Pritchett Electric Trucking), Samuelson Chevrolet Sales Inc., Danbury Plumbing Supply Company #2193 (former Danbury-Pritchett Plumbers), Current Time Video store #3164 (former Current Time Hardware). All these businesses/ organizations still operate today inside someones home or another business setting despite having changed hands many times over the years! This demonstrates just how strong supporting roots can be even when large sums are needed moneywise during specific periods in Houston history!
