Colleyville is a small town in Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 6,546 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The Colleyville Independent School District serves students from pre-K through 12th grade. The name Colleyville comes from General Sam Houston's battle with Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna during the Mexican-American War in 1847. From that day on, most people in what is now Williamson County called themselves "Houstonians". After general Houston's death in1848, his widow and two daughters moved to Colleyville and started a school there. In 1857, Judge Robert Ellington donated land to make a parish church for the new community of Colleyville which would be known as First Baptist Church (later renamed First Presbyterian). In 1865 local resident Aimee Jarrard founded the first post office in Williamson County. She named it after her father-in-law John Gentry who had served as Postmaster General of Texas during Reconstruction following the American Civil War. In 1889 a group of citizens led by Wm Hite built Whatcom Hotel on present day US Highway 183 just south of town limits; this became one of Colleyville's earliest commercial ventures and remains an important part of its economy today. During World War II Colonel James Sibleyreth served as commanding officer of Ulysses S. Grant Air Force Base #14A (now Lackland AFB) in San Angelo and organized flying training for airmen at nearby Randolph AFB before moving his squadron to RAF Coltishall near London England in 1945 where they flew Spitfires until 1946 when they returned home and disbanded thereconfiguration! Colonel Sibleyreth also played an important role organizing troop movements from RAF Coltishall across Europe to Normandy June 1944 when Allied forces invaded Nazi Germany!!! He later died suddenly while vacationing at his home on Lake Erie Island off Buffalo NY about 8 months after the war ended!!!

The Colleyville, Texas town was founded in 1881 by Horace and Esther Colley. The name of the town is derived from a creek that flows through the area. The town became a center for cotton production and commerce after it was established. Today, Colleyville is a small community with a population of around 100 residents. The history of Colleyville goes back to 1881 when Horace and Esther Colley founded the town in what is now the city of Austin, Texas. At first, the town functioned as a small farming community with few amenities such as water or schools. However, due to its strategic location within walking distance of many important businesses and resources, this early incarnation of Colleyville grew into one of the most important towns in Texas during its time period. In 1907, Horace and Esther passed away but their children continued to operate the business until 1942 when it was sold to Cargill Trading Company. Over time, Cargill Trading Company has developed Collettvile into one of the largest cotton plantations in Texas with over 350 acres located in collettvile itself as well as several other surrounding farms/villages. Today, many people from throughout Austin visit Collettvile on vacation or for work purposes due to its scenic beauty and rich history. Additionally, many residents continue to reside inCollettvile despite having few ties thereto aside from their proximity to Austin proper. Due largely to these reasons combined with its unique cultural attractions (e.g., music festivals held annually at nearby Zilker Park),Collettvile remains an important hub for local economic development within Austin-area today
In 1881, Colleyville was founded as a cattle ranch by John C. Colley, a rancher and landowner in the area. In 1907, the town of Colleyville was erected on the site of what is now the downtown core of the town. The name originated from a nickname for John C. Colley's Ranch - "The Outposts."
