Cedar Hill is known as the coffee capital of Texas. The town was founded in 1853 by Josefina and Manuel Ortiz, who bought land for coffee plantations in what is now north Cedar Hill. The first coffee crop was grown in 1854 and the first cup of coffee sold at a farmers market in Cedar Hill was in 1861. The first Starbucks opened its doors in 1991 on US Highway 281 near I-10 south of Cedar Hill. In 2007, Starbucks moved to its current location just east of I-45 on FM 620 southeast of Cedar Hills Park. In 2013, Starbucks announced it would close all 1,500 stores worldwide by 2021 due to increased competition from Amazon and other online retailers.

Cedar Hill’s early coffee history can be traced back to 1847, when James H. Caldwell began raising coffee beans in a small cabin on the banks of the Brazos River. By 1870, Caldwell and his sons had moved their business to what is now Cedar Hill Elementary School, where they continue to operate today. The first espresso machine was created in 1912 by Angelo Morioni at the Morioni Coffee Company in Dallas. In 1938, Donato Damiani opened offices in Cedar Hill and began producing world-renowned coffee beans under the name Donato Damiani Coffee Corporation. In 1959, Donato Damiani died and his company was passed down to his son Giovanni Damiani Sr., who continued production until 1984. Today, The DonatoDamiani Coffee Co.-purchased by Starbucks- continues its legacy of quality coffee production with over two million cups of coffee sold yearly throughout North America.
Cedar Hill is a small town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. Cedar Hill is located on the southern edge of Hudspeth County and is named for Cedar Creek. The first settlers in Cedar Hill were farmers who arrived in 1845 from Illinois. They built a cabin near what is now Elm Street and began to grow crops. In 1848, they built a more permanent structure, which became the nucleus of what would become Cedar Hill. The first post office was established in 1861. As early as 1884, residents of Cedar Hill started petitioning for a school district that would include their township. In 1906, they achieved this goal when the Texas Legislature passed an act establishing the Hudspeth County School District No. 2 (later renamed the Texas Education Agency). The first students were enrolled in Springwood Elementary School with instruction starting in 1907. In 1912, Cedar Hill High School was opened; it has been continuously open since then. In 1915, construction began on Cacamac Stadium which served as home field for both football and baseball teams until it was replaced by Piney Woods Park in 1984 after its use had been exhausted by both sports programs; that year also saw the opening of Hickory Hills Recreation Center which serves as both recreation center and gymnasium for townspeople and athletes alike In 1955-1956 two new elementary schools were added to Cedar Hill; Beech Grove Elementary (now part of Piney Woods) and Aspen Grove Elementary (now part of Hickory Hills). This increased enrollment led to another school district expansion Act being passed by the state legislature in 1957 which placed Cedarhill within the newly created Hidalgo Parish School District No as well as providing additional funding CedarHill’s narrow streets lead down to its namesake creek where people still fishing swim or wade during high water times while outside lights line up along some busy intersections giving an eerie feeling like you are crawlin' through dark history

Cedar Hill is a small town in Harris County, Texas, United States. It was founded in 1847 by Scots-Irish settlers who had come to the area from Ireland. Cedar Hill is located on the east bank of the Trinity River, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) northeast of downtown Austin and 10 miles (16 kilometers) northwest of San Antonio. The population was 5,644 as of the 2010 census. Cedar Hill is part of the Austin–San Antonio metropolitan area. The first European to visit Cedar Hill was José de Urquiza y Cámpora, captain general of Spanish America during the early 19th century. He explored what is now southeastern Texas and landed at Corpus Christi on March 14, 1814. He named this new land "Isabel," after his wife Isabel Pérez de los Ríos y Zúñiga. In September 1846, General Sam Houston recommended that Congress grant a charter to establish a university in Texas under royal proclamation issued by Governor George Wills Dallas on November 11 that year. The charter for Rice Normal School was granted on December 12, 1846; and on January 6, 1847 Rice opened its doors to students with an enrollment of 21 students including 8 men and 8 women sailors from HMS Beagle commanded by Captain John Franklin Dyson off Texan coast
