The Carrollton, Texas Army Garrison was established in 1892. It served as the home of the Texas National Guard from 1898 to 1916. The Garrison was disbanded in 1916 and its units were transferred to Fort Worth, Texas. The Fort Worth Army Garrison was also dissolved in 1916 and its units were transferred to Corpus Christi,Texas. The present-day army garrison is located in Carrollton. The first military installation in Carrollton was Camp Bowie, which opened on November 8, 1892. Camp Bowie served as the training ground for the Texas National Guard and was used by various garrisons throughout the state until 1916 when it was disbanded due to World War I troop mobilization. In 1916, the Texas National Guard's Headquarters relocated from Austin to Carrollton where it remained until 1992 when it moved again, this time back to Austin proper. currently stationed at Travis Air Force Base . Camp Bowie designation seems like a recycled name from earlier years - if so then we can assume that there have been multiple camp bows over time due to different needs or changes with armaments or mission (ie wooden barracks being replaced by more modern buildings) but for now this is all we know about this early history!

Carrollton is a city in Dallas County, Texas, United States. The population was 845 at the 2010 census. Carrollton is located on the eastern edge of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. It is part of the Dallas–Arlington–Ft Worth Combined Statistical Area. The history of Carrollton goes back to 1837, when it was part of what was known as the Alamo Nation. In 1853, it became an incorporated town and soon developed into a rural community with farms and ranching properties that accommodated up to 5,000 people. By 1915, when annexation by Arlington led to its incorporation as a city proper, Carrollton had grown to nearly 10,000 residents and employed over 100 people in its various sectors: retail trade (farming products), manufacturing (knives and other kitchen gadgets), services (parking lots and management companies), transportation (roads and bridges), agriculture (poultryprocessing plants) and civic organizations such as churches and schools. In 1920s local architect James McMurray designed some of Dallas's first public housing developments including Hillcrest Gardens for white working-class citizens who were priced out of downtownDallas; today's Hillcrest Towers are still one of Dallas' earliest examples of integrated housing development. During World War II many local businesses served as suppliers for U.S Government agencies or played a supporting role in war production; these include munitions factories like Barcroft Machine Works which manufactured ammunition for Army guns; automotive parts maker Jaffe Aircraft Corporation which built Curtiss P-40 Warhawk fighters for RAF pilots during the war; truck dealership Stanley Motor Company which supplied military jeeps with parts needed for their drive trains; printing plant American Printing Presses Inc., later renamed ECA Paper Products Incorporated which produced high quality paper products including envelopes, postcards, brochures etc.; finally chemical plant National Steel & Wire Company which manufactured steel wire materials used in war industries like airplane construction etc.. Carrollton is a small town located in Cameron County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,821 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area. Carrollton was founded in 1878 by John Denton and named for General James Fenton, who had served as an officer in the Mexican War and had been made a brigadier general in the United States Army. The first store opened in 1879 on what is now Main Street. A post office was established at Carrollton in 1881, and remained open until it closed in 1927. In 1888, Hennepin Natural Gas Company began providing gas service to the town; it became available to all residents through public works crews that summer. The Griggs Manufacturing Company built a sawmill and gristmill on Main Street in 1889; these mills continued production until 1960. Other notable businesses of that era include J.C.'s grocery store (renamed Joplin's since 1984), Wilson's Ford dealership (replaced by Kress & Co., Incorporated when that company merged with Chevrolet), Masonic Temple No 3 (now known as First Baptist Church), Ahmanson BBQ restaurant (opened 1975), and numerous others. Many of these businesses are still operating today; however, most have changed hands multiple times over the years. In 1925, Waco attorney Harry Baugh leased land east of downtown from Griggs Manufacturing Company for use as a shopping center; this complex—later renamed Waco Mall—became one of Texas' largest shopping districts during its heyday between 1925 and 1970. In 1929, US Post Office moved from downtown to new facilities south of Interstate 35W near Griggs Manufacturing Company's original facility; this building remains extant today as La Quinta Place Shopping Center Boulevard Wright Drive NW). During World War IIonymouth Supply Depot #1 (later renamed Fort Hood) sat on adjacent property northeast of downtown near San Jacinto College which became home to many local institutions including Baylor University after that institution relocated from West TXto Houston after Hurricane Harvey devastated much of Galveston Bay area
Carrollton is located in Kaufman County, Texas and was founded in 1881. The town was named for General James H. Carroll, who served as the first U.S. Marshal in Kaufman County. The town grew rapidly during the early 20th century due to its natural resources and its position on the border of Mexico and Texas. In 1924, Carrollton became a city and has since grown into one of the most vibrant communities in Kaufman County.
