Borger, Texas is a small town located in Tarrant County, Texas. The population was 4,050 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Tarrant County. The name Borger comes from early settler George Borger. The town began as a stop on the Santa Fe Trail and quickly became a center for industry and trade. In 1881, the first post office was established in Borger and it remained that way until 1907 when it was moved to Fort Worth. In 1911, the first railroad station was built in BorGER and it continued to serve as a junction point for numerous trains until 1975 when all trackage within Tarrant County was sold to Amtrak. Today, BorGER is home to many businesses such as clothing outlets including Sears, JCPenney and Macy's; banks such as First National Bank of Amarillo and United States Trust Company; restaurants including Subway and Red Lobster; golf courses such astrylon Country Club; two high schools: Lamar High School and John Marshall High School; an airport which serves both Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Amarillo International Airport (AAR);and a variety of other businesses including gas stations, convenience stores/convenience stores, grocery stores/amalgamated food markets/grocery chains etc. In recent years there has been significant development taking place within the town limits with several new homes being constructed along Uptown Boulevard while also improvements have been made to existing homesites making them more comfortable for residents. There are also several parks located within walking distance of most residents which include West Park Recreation Area which includes a beachfront park complete with swimming pool and beach volley court; East Park with its large open space perfect for picnics or events such as Fourth of July fireworks displays; South Park which offers basketball games during summer months as well as baseball games during winter months - all while still maintaining access to basic services like water supplies, trash collection etc.;and finally Silver Spur Golf Course - one of only two courses in Tarrant County that offer professional play opportunities for citizens through associations licensed by Texas Gambling Commission - making it one of most popular tourist destinations in town

Throughout the years, there have been numerous attempts by members of Congress to establish a national naval gift program. Borger, Texas is located in the central region of Texas. The town was founded by Anglo-Saxon settlers in 1836. The name Borger comes from Dutch and means "place where trees grow." In 1887, the Borger Land Company bought 640 acres of land at what is now the intersection of Highway 6 and FM 1602. The company built a sawmill, an oil well, a grist mill, a post office and a school. In 1916, the company merged with two other companies to form the Consolidated Mining and Manufacturing Company. The company developed several mines including the famous Borger Gold Mine which produced gold until it closed in 1923. In 1925, the company merged with another mining group to become Consolidated Mines & Oil Corporation which operated an oil refinery and gas station until 1984 when it merged with energy corporation Gulf Resources Incorporated to become Gulf Energy Corporation.

The town grew rapidly during the early years of the twentieth century, thanks to its location on the Brazos River and its easy access to markets in Dallas and Houston.
