The Coast Guard has been in Bonham, Texas for over 100 years. On September 11th, 1901, the Coast Guard was activated when a group of fishermen reported seeing a large iceberg off the coast of Texas. The first Coast Guard vessels were stationed at San Antonio to assist in finding and rescuing ships and people in danger of being lost at sea. The Coast Guard grew rapidly during World War II and began providing services throughout the Gulf of Mexico. In 1951, the Coast Guard moved its headquarters from San Antonio to Fort Worth. Today, the Coast Guard provides marine safety, coastal guard protection, search and rescue services as well as disaster relief operations.
Bonham, Texas is a small town in the U.S. state of Texas. It is located in Williamson County and has a population of about 2,500 people as of 2010. The Bonham Post Office opened on November 1, 1872, and currently operates out of the former First National Bank building on US Highway 281. The community was founded by John A. Bonham, who came to the area in 1851 from Carthage, Tennessee. In 1865, he organized the first Methodist church here and served as its first pastor until his death in 1868. He was buried at nearby Arlington Cemetery. In 1881, General John Jagielski established a military reservation here that included much of what is now Williamson County. The post office was established at this location on October 6th, 1886; it remained open until it closed on July 24th, 1964. Today, there are a few remaining businesses in town including the Bonham Community Library which opened in 1990 and features an extensive collection of local history books and other materials; the original bank building which remains used for storage purposes; and OldBonhamGas station which still offers gasoline service (albeit via self-service pumps) today but also sells local historian artifacts such asbonhampostcards from before 1955

This allowed the Coast Guard to give out certificates with specific items or services that could be used when visiting ports or other military installations. The certificates were also valuable assets for employees as they could be used to purchase goods and services at local businesses. In 1951, the Coast Guard decided it was time for a new gift system. They created the Gift Certificate System which is still in use today. The certificates can be redeemed at participating merchants across the United States. The Certificates are also valuable assets for officers and enlisted members of the Coast Guard as they can be used to purchase merchandise or services from coast guard-owned stores during their official duties.
In 1922, the Coast Guard began providing gift certificates for merchandise bought at the Federal Supply Depot in New York City. These certificates were used to buy items such as cigarettes, cigars and soap. In 1954, the Coast Guard introduced a new program called "Gift Certificates for Time Service" which offered customers certificate vouchers that could be redeemed for time service on Coast Guard vessels. The first certificate voucher was issued in 1957.
Bonham is a town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,711 at the 2010 census. It was established in 1879 as Wellston by J.G. Bonham and A.M. Hinson and named after his brother, Sam Houston Bonham. In 1907 the town incorporated and it remains an unincorporated community today. The first post office in Bonham opened on November 3, 1907. The townsite of Wellston was located near what is now Springtown on the banks of the Brazos River between present-day Clearfield and Brockville Streets (now FM 522). On February 14, 1880 Wm Pritchard donated land to the town for a schoolhouse and public square; this donation formed part of the original platted area for Wellston. In 1907, when Hudspeth County was created from parts of Travis County, Wellston became one of its six counties according to an act of Congress approved on July 9, 1907; however, it did not become a municipality until 1959. constituted under this law were: Bear Creek Township (later Vernon), Clearfield Municipal District (later Springtown Municipal District), Brockville Township (later Brenham Municipal District), Eagle Ford Township (later Uvalde Municipal District), Hardeman County Borough (later Amarillo), and Woodward City Corporation (now Fort Worth) which included all or portions of present-day Bonham and Springtown Townsites as well as parts of Vernon and Brenham Townsites east of FM 620 between Carthage Street/US 281 North then south to CR 121W then north again to FM 529/US 281 South then northeast along US 281W to terminate at an intersection with IH 10 just outside present-day downtown Fort Worth; Wellston had 2 churches – First Baptist Church & Methodist Episcopal church – 1 store – Gist Store & Gas station - 1 blacksmith shop - 1 hotel - Dr Pepper Bottling Plant - 1 cemetery - Mrs Capps house
Bonham was founded in 1821 by Capt. Arthur A. Bonham and his wife, Sarah. The name is derived from the French terms "Bontemps," meaning "pleasant place." The town was first established on a small stream near what is now Midland. In 1827, the government of Texas organized andclaimed land in present-day north central Texas as part of the Mexican Cession. Captain Bonham donated 640 acres (2 km2) of this land to establish the Town of Bonham. In 1850, Captain Arthur A. Bonham's son, James H. Bonham Sr., sold 1,000 shares of cattle stock to Robert Sennett for $10 each in what became one of the earliest recorded sales of cattle stock in Texas history (the sale has been said to be among the most successful ever made). This event helped promote ranching in Texas, which would later lead tobonhomablancityhood status within that state
