There have been many military deployments in Bonham, Texas over the years. The United States Army has stationed troops here for a variety of reasons from the Revolutionary War to World War II. Today, the American Forces deployed in Bonham are part of Operation Inherent Resolve, an international coalition against ISIS. Since 1945, the Department of Defense has donated items and services to local businesses and organizations through Project Giveback. Project Giveback is an effort by DoD to provide necessary goods and services to our local community during military deployments. Over time, the Department of Defense has donated items such as radios, tents, vehicles, ammunition and other supplies to local businesses in Bonham. In 2017 alone, DoD donated more than $150,000 worth of items and services to local organizations in Bonham County. ProjectGiveback is a great way for DoD to help our community while we are deployed! It allows us to be creative and come up with unique ways that we can give backpacks or laptops or any other type of device that might be needed during a deployment. We love seeing all of the different donations that our community makes so we can keep everyone connected during these difficult times.

The Bonham Army Depot was a military depot located in the city of Bonham, Texas. The depot was opened in 1908 and closed in 1969. It served as the primary armament storage and production center for the United States armed forces during World War II.
Bonham is a town in Angelina County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,619 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The Bonham-Bryan Airport is located in the town. The first settler in what would become Bonham was August Vining. He built a cabin on the edge of what is now downtown Bonham and named it Vining's Rancho de las Animas (later renamed Bonham). In 1881, John Wesley Powell discovered oil shale near present dayBonham and decided to drill for gas in nearby Jericoacousy Canyon. A few years later he leased land from August Vining for $1 per acre to build an oil well east of downtown on his property called Wacoal/Powell County Well No. 2 (now known as UEX-TV Tower). When production began at Wacoal/Powell County Well No. 2 in 1902, the citizens of Angelina County donated money to have a road built from here to Wacoal/Powell County Well No. 2 so that people could come see and sample the natural resources at their disposal. This road became known as "The Prairie Road". In 1909, George Fenton founded a grocery store and general store in downtown Bonham which became famous throughout central Texas for its groceries until it closed its doors in 1978 due to changing economic conditions within the community during that time period In 1969, Don White purchased 5 acres (20 hectares) of land northeast of town on Highway 281 for $2 per acre resulting in today's original business district including most of downtownBonHAMand much more peripheral Development since then . Today Don White operates one hundred businesses including several hundred truck stops all over central Texas with about twenty thousand customers daily plus another seventy four processing plants across Central America with some five thousand employees providing jobs not only here but also south into Mexico

Bonham, Texas is a small town in Tarrant County, Texas. The population was 2,898 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Amarillo–New Braunfels metropolitan area. The first settlers in what is now Bonham were Emmett and Lillie Smith who arrived in 1884. They hired Canon W. Hite to survey their land and they built their farm on the current site of Bonham on March 8, 1885. The original owner of the land was William Pritchard and his wife Nancy Ackerley Pritchard. The town name comes from John Bonomi who settled near present day Wichita Falls in 1827. He named his community after himself, Bonnami (Italian for "blessed"). Another early settler in what is now Bonham was James Sutherlin who came to this area around 1840 with his family and founded a cabin known as Old Fort Sutherlin on the banks of the Canadian River about six miles northeast of present-day Bonham." It should be noted that there are several versions of how Bannon got his name - one source claims he changed it from Bennamini (Italian for "blessed") when he moved westward to Texas; another says he got his nickname due to being both fastidious and shy; still others claim Bannon just liked the sound of it or because no one could pronounce it right. A possible explanation for Bannon's name might be related to some nearby springs which were said to give people strength during times of famine or illness. Alternatively, it may have been inspired by General George Armstrong Custer's famous battle cry "Bannon out!" which was also discovered when searching for likely locations for a bonfire during Battle Creek Curtain Ball game celebrations back in 1893
