Since the early 1800s, the Boerne National Guard has been a part of Texas history. The first national guard unit in Texas was organized on December 15, 1846. It was called the 1st Regiment of Volunteers and served with distinction during the Mexican-American War. In 1898, after Texas became an independent republic, the 1st Cavalry Regiment was activated to serve as one of two guard forces for San Antonio. On February 14, 1899, President McKinley designated the 1st Cavalry Regiment as a regiment composed entirely of American soldiers from Texas who had volunteered to fight in that war. The regiment quickly attained notoriety for its distinguished fighting record in Mexico and World War I before being disbanded in 1919. In 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt createdthe National Guard Bureau within the Department of Defense to provide better support to state and local units of the military throughout America’s security atmosphere by providing education and training programs on how to be Guardsmen/Aides-de-Camp (G&A). At this time also came into existence a new type of gift for Christmas - the Soldier's Medal which is now known as The Presidential Medal Of Freedom. This prestigious award is given annually to an individual who has made significant contributions to society both through service to his or her country and through leadership roles within their community or organizations
The National Guard of the United States is a militarized, volunteer militia organization that was originally established in 1792 as an emergency response to the American Revolution. The Militia Act of 1795 created a permanent national guard and authorized its members to bear arms for the defense of the nation. The National Guard has been used in times of peace and during emergencies since the Revolutionary War, including during both World Wars. Today, there are over 600,000 active dutyNational Guard members across the country who serve in various roles from escort duty to combat infantry. The National Guard today is one of America’s most versatile and important organizations, able to provide vital support when needed but also able to connect with civilians through community service projects. In addition to its military role, the National Guard also provides law enforcement services through state militias and Joint Task Forces composed of state police agencies and unit commanders from other public safety organizations such as fire departments or sheriff’s departments. The history of our current national guard system can be traced back to 1792 when Massachusetts raised a regiment known as “the New England Regiment” under Colonel Joseph Warren for service in the American Revolution. Soon after this first deployment into battle, General Washington ordered all militiamen within his command mustered out due to illness or injury; however, this order was not executed completely because some men continued their fight against British forces even though they were no longer needed on battlefields. This act demonstrated how much respect Washington had for these men and showed that he could rely on them if called upon during future conflictspursuit of freedom or war against any foreign power). In 1796 Congress passed legislation authorizing regional militias (the so-called “New York Provincial Militia”) which would become part of what would become the Continental Army under George Washington's command at Valley Forge in January 1777 (watch video about Valley Forge here). On July 26th EDT patriot Major John Parker disguised himself as a Hessian soldier named Johann Hecker while infiltrating British lines near Saratoga Springs NY; he successfully staged an attack successful enough that sent British Commander Cornwallis fleeing for his life! After this adventure Parker became known as “The Patriot Hero”). On October 16th EDT Patriots captured Fort Ticonderoga northwest of Syracuse NY after hours-long siege; stronghold key strategic position overlooking Lake Ontarioessential for Tory supply line leading into Canada) resulting in largest US victory at Saratoga Campaign (watch video about Ticonderoga here). Aftermath: Loyalists burned down courthouse & jail at Kingston New York following surrender ( watch video about Battle Of Yorktown here ). A total amountof $162 million was raised by voluntaryContributors thruApril 1865 ($242 per capita), more than 3 times federal requisition funds collected thruout same period ($64 per capita)). On November 21st 1814 Connecticut raised 3 regiments totaling 10200 soldiersunder Brigadier General Benedict Arnold – initial responsetoraidBoston & Québec Cityrespectivelyfollowing French Invasion(watchvideo about Quebec Invasion HERE ). As we move into 2019 we can see many examples where our local guards have played an important role protecting citizens both locally AND nationally! Our guardsmen have shown up during Irma Hermine Hurricane Irma being activated immediately after landfall while others waited days or even weeks before going into action; many guardsmen deployed outside their states just like Delaware did when they received notice hurricane conditions were developing deep inside their territory! Many states have now set up fundraisers specifically for Guardsmen who have responded personally or via deploymentduring major events like hurricanes/floods etc… Some specific examples include Texas deploying almost 5000 Guardsmenin just 6 days following Harvey aftermath while Florida allocated more than 6000guard troops throughout 2018 alone!!
The Boerne National Guard has been in existence since 1907. The unit was activated on November 15, 1907 when the Texas Legislature authorized the formation of a national guard to protect Texans in their states. At its first meeting, the regiment consisted of only 20 men and was organized under the command of Major General John H. Rankin. The regiment served until 1912. In 1913, the regiment was redesignated as Company A, 1st Battalion, Texas Infantry Regiment and it served until 1916. In 1917, the battalion was redesignated as Company B and it served until 1919. In 1920, Company B became Companies A and C and it served until 1922. After World War II ended, both companies were disbanded and re-activated on October 28th 1948 at San Antonio as part ofOperation Fort Worth Pageant which commemorated 50 years of military service by Boerne National Guard units in Texas. These units participated in various ceremonies throughout Texas including a parade through downtown Austin on November 10th 1951 followed by a performance at Camp Bowie outside Dallas on December 3rd 1951 where they took part in an artillery display against friendly forces during Christmas season
Boerne, Texas is a town located in Webb County, Texas, United States. The population was 9,619 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The name "Boerne" comes from Dutch settlers who named it "Boesch" after one of their villages in what is now Netherlands Antilles. Boerne's first post office opened in 1876 and continued operation until 1935. In 1879, A C P Sprague founded an oil well near present-day Boerne and began production that led to the growth of the town. At its peak, Boerne had a population of 10,000 people and boasted a railroad depot, schoolhouse, two hotels (the Hotel de la Plata and the Hotel Roosevelt), two churches (Anglican and Methodist), three businesses (a grocery store, a bank and a mill), four water systems (two for irrigation purposes and two for homes), five public buildings ( courthouse, jail/prison complex including an old cotton gin which still stands as evidence of how important justice was during this time) and twelve individual homes. In 1904-05 Pringle built what is now downtown Boerne on land donated by Sprague. This structure served as the town's first library until 1934 when it burned down due to heavy rains which caused extensive damage to both building and furnishings inside; however new construction soon followed with new library building opened in 1936 local history museum since destroyed by fire in 1978

During wartime, Guard units have been mobilized for participation in various operations including Operation Desert Storm (1991), Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003), Operation Enduring Freedom (2007-2008),Operation Jade Helm 15 (2015),and Rogue Warrior II (2018). Throughout its history, the U.S. Military has always maintained a strong relationship with state militias through donations of weapons, equipment, volunteers and support services. For example: when Kentucky became a state in 1820 it donated 5 rifles to each New York State Militia Regiment plus 10 militiamen for training purposes; Michigan contributed 1 cannonball rifle to eachGeorgia militia regiment in 1861 during the American Civil War; when West Virginia seceded from Virginia on February 26th 1861 it donated 3 cannons to each Maryland militia regiment along with 1000 men for three months’ duty until secession was approved by Congress; Texas provided 10 guns and 6000 rounds of ammunition to Louisiana’s Confederate forces during World War I while Florida contributed 30 horses worth $4000 apiece to Puerto Rico’s war effort after its incorporation into America In recent years there has been increased interest within society around giving gift baskets filled with items related to national guard history
