The Navy has been in Bellaire, Texas since 1855. The first ship to be built in the city was the USS Constitution, which arrived on October 25, 1855. The city’s navy Yard was founded in 1907 and the first ship to be launched from it was the SS Jeremiah Dyson on December 2nd of that year. In 1915, the USS Dallas arrived in town and served as a training vessel for local sailors. In 1951, Bellaire became home to its own Naval Air Station (NAS) when NAS Corpus Christi was closed down. NAS Bellaire operated until 1973 when it closed its doors permanently. Today, NAS Corpus Christi is still open as an airfield for marine helicopters and jets used by the Navy. The history of navy gift giving in Bellaire goes back even further than that! It is believed that early naval officers stationed here began gifting items such as clothes, cigars, books and other supplies to sailors aboard their ships or at their homes ashore during deployments around San Antonio Bayou. Gifts continued to be given throughout World War II with servicemen donating everything from tools to vehicles to jewelry. After the war ended and many of these gifts were returned home, gifting resumed more slowly but surely- however it would not stop until made permanent within the Naval Air Station community itself! In 1987, NAS Corpus Christi erected a large statues of three admirals- Rear Admiral Harry Jantz (Ret.), Commodore Gary Hensley (Ret.) and Rear Admiral James Fenton- stand along side one another next to a plaque reading “Gift Giving by Sailors During World War II” without any doubt being able to see what all those medals represent! From then on onwards there has been regular gala events throughout year long where members of the military can come together and exchange gifts with friends or family members they might not have otherwise had contact with! These events become especially popular due to how much fun they are often said to be!!

At first only white students were allowed to attend Baylor; however this policy soon changed after protests from local black residents who felt that they were being excluded from what should have been an inclusive educational institution catering to all citizens no matter their background or race

Bellaire is a town in Potter County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The first settler in Bellaire was Alexander McCoy who arrived in 1827. The name "Bellaire" came from a Creek word meaning "a place where there are many buffalo." In 1838, John Stephenson founded an agricultural colony called Tomball on the Brazos River in present day Tomball County. In 1861, Confederate General Robert Ewell made his way to Bellaire and surrendered there after months of fighting. On July 8, 1861, General James K. Polk gave orders for all southern civilians to leave Texas within 48 hours or face military occupation by Union forces under Major General William Troup. Over one hundred thousand Texans were taken into custody and transported north to Fort Mifflin near Philadelphia. Most were sent south to New Orleans or even worse - concentration camps on Southern Plains Indian Reservations such as Red River Valley (now Wichita Falls). After the war ended and most of these Texans returned home, Bellaire slowly began to recover with its own economy based largely on agriculture until World War II when oil exploration began nearby and the industry took hold which has sustained the community economically ever since. Nowadays much of that activity takes place around downtown which is home to several businesses including banks (National Bank & Trust Company being one), restaurants (Red Robin Burger Joint being one), a movie theater (the Regal Cinemas Arlington) and retail stores such as JCPenney Home Store and Macy's department store have opened up over time making it more vibrant than ever before for locals and tourists alike; but don't forget about those iconic Buffalo Bill Cody statues that can be found throughout the cityscape!
Bellaire is a city in and the county seat of Travis County, Texas, United States. The population was 27,458 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. Bellaire has been nicknamed "The City of Progress". The original settlers were African Americans who worked as sharecroppers on land that later became part of what is now Bellaire. In 1892, Charles W. Cooke founded Cooke-Laughlin Glass Company in what is now Bellaire with his brother-in-law John Laughlin. In 1907, when Houston annexed Travis County, Bellaire became its town. In 1909, Jules Burch began making radios for the oil industry in what is now Bellaire and other parts of Travis County. He started a business that would become known as Broadcast Communications Incorporated (BCI). BCI built several radio stations throughout Texas before becoming a full blown TV station in 1970 with the call sign KTVX (now KTRK). For many years it was considered one of TX's most successful TV stations due to its large viewership areas including portions ofHouston and Dallas/Ft Worth along with its statewide reach through cable TV and satellite services. In 1969, TC Broadcasting bought KTVX from BCI for US$2 million then sold it to Time-Life Television subsidiary CBS Corporation for $5 million two years later. From then until her death in 2003, Alice Paul visited KTVX every day during her cross country tour promoting her new album "The Weight" which was released that year by Columbia Records/CBS Nashville LP On October 3rd 2005 local papers reported that Time Life had agreed to sell KTVX back to ABC Corporation for $6 million cash plus an option to buy all or any future programs or interests owned by ABCDShowtime Entertainments Inc., which included shows such as " Dancing With the Stars", " American Idol", " The Bachelor" and more; this made KTVXHistory again once again being returned to local ownership after having been passed through numerous hands over time
