The Navy has been deploying gifts to troops in the Azle, Texas area for over seventy years. Azle is a small town located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas. The population was 12,898 at the 2000 census and 14,287 as of 2010. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The first settler in Azle was J.D. White in 1875. A post office called Azle was established in 1880, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1911. At that time, Azle had a population of just 10 people. In 1915, oil began to be discovered near Azle and soon production from nearby wells began to increase rapidly; by 1923, there were over 20 rigs drilling for oil within 100 miles of the town limits! As oil prices increased and production continued to grow, so too did crime rates within the community; by 1930, robberies had nearly tripled! However, with government investment into local infrastructure (including new schools and hospitals), along with an ever growing workforce brought on by new businesses opened up throughout the area (such as restaurants and gas stations), things began to change for Azle during the late 1920s and early 1930s – though they still faced some challenges such as high unemployment rates among young adults during World War II). During that time period also saw growth inAzle's nightlife; while music venues like The Klaxons played predominately rock music through most of the decade (a soundbyte captured on their song " azle" ), live jazz performances occurred at several other establishments throughout downtown during this time frame as well. After WWII ended however (and rural America regained its footing), crime rates plummeted; unemployment rates also dropped significantly – makingAZLE one of Texan's fastest-growing communities between 1945-1955! It wasn't until after passage of THE FEDERAL LAW OF TEXAS IN 1957 THAT THE COMMUNITY'S TRADE UNIONS GOT THEIR ACT together AND STARTED TO LEND MONEY TO HELP WITH INSTALLING SCHOOLS AND GOOD WELFARE FOR THEIR NEIGHBORS AS PART OF WHAT IS NOW KNOWN AS "THE AZLE COUNCIL." Today azle has seen many changes over the years including updating its infrastructure including 4 different high school football stadiums which have now been replaced with 3 new multipurpose stadiums used for different events such as soccer, baseball & softball tournaments etc.; erection of numerous apartment complexes which have allowed for more traffic & jobs being brought into town while keeping much Of The Community's charm alive

Azle is a town in Kerr County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,719 at the 2000 census. It was incorporated on November 3, 1907. Azle is located on the Gulf of Mexico about halfway between Galveston and Houston. The first known inhabitants of what is now Azle were two Comanche Apache chiefs named Pee-wee and Soo-yoo (some sources say it was Joe) who came to what is now Kerr County in 1853 from the approximate location of San Antonio, Texas. The area that became Azle was part of Mexican Land grants given to prominent Texans such as Sam Houston and John Connally by Mexico after the US victory in the Mexican–American War. A post office called San Antonio had been established in 1847 but no mail reached it until 1868 when Stephen Fenton sent a horse wagonload of letters through Bexar Creek Valley to San Antonio via Canaán Pass. In 1906, an act of Congress designated Kerr County as a land grant for $10 per acre to citizens or their descendants who would develop agriculture there. Charles Humbleton and his brother-in-law Wirt Humblet formed a company with other men to purchase this land from J.P Burnett and make it into a townsite. On November 3, 1907, azle incorporation occurred before an audience of more than 100 residents assembled at the old Smith House west of town center on High Street (now Elm Street). This event marked not only the beginning but also an era during which Azle grew rapidly as entrepreneur/ mayor/councilman Wirt Humblet vigorously promoted its behalf both locally and nationally; he also founded various businesses including one paper mill around 1915 which continues operation today as First National Bank Azle TX This period saw significant growth for azle due largely to immigrants - Irish in particular - arriving here during World War I following Ireland's partitioning into Northern Ireland and Republic Of Ireland; many coming specifically because they could find work at plants run by UAC flour mills in Galveston or Houston while others took jobs available on family farms near Abilene or Wichita Falls Additionally many families moved away from rural areas back east during this time frame seeking opportunities closer to larger cities like Dallas or Austin In 1928 azle annexed parts of Mission Ridge south along Utopia Road while retaining much OFRKWHLNTw territory north thereof ; annexation bringing over some 2,000 residents within just 10 years During this time period local government changed hands several times due largely to conflicts between Mayor Humblet and successive Commissioners including one term lasting two years where commissioner Don Eason succeeded him after refusing orders from Mayor Humblet not to demolish a black church then open up property for business development . By 1960s most aspects associated with early 20th centuryAzley life were fading memory with few remaining buildings remaining standing beyond historic core .
