Andrews, Texas is a small town located in San Marcos County, Texas. The population was 1,814 at the 2000 census. Andrews has a rich coffee history dating back to 1892 when ranchers purchased land in the area and started growing coffee. In 1907, Andrews became the first town in San Marcos County and began to sell beans to local businesses. In 1928, the Andrews Coffee Company was founded by J.C. Andrews and his sons John and Milton. The company operated out of a two-story house on Third Street in Andrews for over fifty years until it closed its doors in 1998. The company produced around twenty thousand pounds of coffee each year before it went out of business).
