Coffee has been enjoyed by people in Amarillo, Texas for over a century. One of the first coffee shops in the city was founded in 1887 by Dr. John A. Taylor and his partner, George W. Moore. The shop was open until 1978 when it closed because of financial difficulties. It reopened in 1984 under the name of Good Coffee Company before moving to its current location in 2006. In that year, the company underwent a major renovation which doubled the size of their store and added a new cafe area with a variety of seating and foods options. Today, Good Coffee Company is one of the most popular coffee stores in Amarillo with more than 20 locations throughout the state. The origins of coffee can be traced back to beans that were brought overland from Central America by individuals working for Spanish traders on their way to California and other parts of the United States (Lopez-Portugal et al.). These beans were roasted on small fires using different methods including water dousing and burning wood (Fernandez-Gonzalez). Over time, these various methods yielded different degrees of roastiness and flavoriness which led to variations within different regions (Harrison). This diversity is what allowed for early adopters like Dr. John A., George W., Froebel Bros., Taylor & Moore, Good Coffee Co., etc., to experiment with different roasts and flavors while also expanding their business opportunities (Smith). Since World War II, however, Starbucks has been dominant as both an espresso machine manufacturer as well as an entire category known as “coffee bars” where customers can purchase drinks such as lattes or cappuccinos (Goudreau). While many businesses have followed suit since then - such as Dunkin' Donuts - Starbucks remains king due largely to its profitability ($12 billion worth last year) combined with its wide availability across all geographies (Brittenhausen). Additionally, it is still seen as aniconic compared to other cafés where customers are typically seated at tables near a window giving them plenty of opportunity to watch traffic go by outside while they enjoy their cupof Joe (Nelson).

Amarillo is a town in Chihuahua County, Texas, United States. The population was 9,554 at the 2010 census. Amarillo is the county seat of Chihuahua County. It has been the site of various military engagements and battles including the Battle of Palo Alto (1865), Battle of Gonzales (1867), and Battle of Stockton (1868). The first permanent settlement in what is now Amarillo was made by Methodist missionaries in 1836. A post office called "Amarillo" was established in 1839, and remained open until it was discontinued in 1903. The current spelling, Amarillo, was created by a local ordinance passed in 1907. The name comes from Spanish words meaning "mountainside village." The railroad reached Amarillo on May 14, 1881. At that time it functioned as a branch line linking Lubbock with Fort Worth. On November 15, 1902, the Union Pacific Railroad reached Amarillo and began to serve as an important transportation corridor for both towns. That same year saw the start of oil production at Anadarko Petroleum Company's Kerr-McGee Oil Field east of town; this helped to drive development within town boundaries and led to the annexation of neighboring towns by Amarillo in 1916. During World War II more than 50% of all American munitions produced outside California were manufactured here at Kerr-McGee Plant #4 adjacent to town limits; some 5 million pounds (2 million kg) TNT were produced here during those years alone! Additionally many other industrial plants were built within or near town limits such as Atomic Energy Commission Site No.#5 which operated from 1951-1962; local paper manufacturer Cline Paper Products Corporation located their manufacturing plant on Main Street between 1914-1967; First National Bank building constructed here between 1913-1920 etc.; these are just a few examples which illustrate how rapidly technology & industry have influenced our community over time!

In 1969, Dutch Schultz founded Starbucks with two dollars in his pocket after he won a bet with another businessman named Howard Schultz about who could open the first Starbucks location without any special equipment or ingredients

Amarillo is a city in Texas located on the Llano River. The population was 597,851 as of the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Pecos County. Amarillo was founded by Anglo-Mexican settlers in 1867 and became a post office in 1870. The city's first store opened in 1872. The city was named after John Fenton, an American general who fought with Mexico during the Mexican–American War. The present day name of Amarillo is most likely derived from Spanish language words meaning "place where cattle are pastured." The town of Amarillo first came into being when two small villages near the Llano River merged to form one village in 1867. At that time, there were no towns or cities within Texas and only six counties made up the state of Texas. The original area now encompassing Amarillo was part of Eagle Pass County and it took until 1880 for the merger to be completed and for all residents of both villages to move into what would eventually become Amarillo. In 1907, construction began on what would become known as Municipal Airport which served as Amarillo's primary airport until 1941 when Texan Airlines began operations at this facility making it their headquarters for many years until its closure. In 1966, Municipal Airport became home to a new FAA-licensed Instrument Landing System (ILS) which allowed less experienced pilots to land safely on short runways without having to experience instrument flying for the first time In 1969, following annexation by Pecos County, Municipal Airport became Pecos Valley Regional Airpark which remains its current use today Municipal Airport also saw heavy use during World War II as it played host to airfields used by United StatesAAF forces engaged inOperation Torch including Tactical Air Command's bombers Eighth Air Force's B-24s Operation Linkage bombing missions over Benghazi ) In 1949 , Municipal Airport again saw use when Texan Airlines moved their headquarters from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Houston Hobby Airport (HIA) . After TXAN Airlines ceased operations at Houston Hobby in 1977, IFR facilities at MunicipalAirport reverted back to TxAero Operations providing access 24/7to all Texans regardless of drone airspace restrictions
