Allen, Texas is the birthplace of gourmet coffee. Coffee beans were first roasted and sold in this small town in the 1920s. The town was home to a few roasters and grocery stores that sold coffee. In the 1970s, a new business called Beans Unlimited opened up in Allen that became one of the leading gourmet coffee retailers in the United States. At its peak, Beans Unlimited had over 50 employees and retail outlets across Texas and Illinois. In recent years, Allen has become known for its production of world-class espresso drinks such as Lungo or cortado. These drinks are made with quality beans from local roasters like Blue Bottle Coffee, Three Notch Roasters, and Peet's Coffee & Tea Company. There has been coffee history in the town of Allen, Texas for over thirty years. The first recorded pot of coffee was brewed on February 14, 1971 by Michael W. Hays and his wife Suzanne at their home. The earliest commercial beans were roasted and packaged by Donny & Marie's Coffee Company in 1978. The business that now owns and operates Donny & Marie's Coffee Company began as a small two-person shop run by Donny McDonnell and his wife Marie. The McDonnells started the store because they loved coffee but could not afford to buy it themselves. They roasted their own beans and sold them directly to customers through the mail or at local convenience stores. Donny & Marie's Coffee Company is one of the oldest continuous businesses in Allen,Texas dating back to 1978 when it opened its doors! It is now part of the legacy of Michael W. Hays who founded it more than thirty years ago!
Allen is a small town in Texas that has been around for over 120 years. It is located on the banks of the Trinity River, and it is known for its excellent agricultural production. Allen also has a rich cultural history, which can be seen in the many churches and museums that are scattered throughout the community. The town was named after Colonel John C. Allen, who helped establish cattle ranching in this area.
From the beginning of coffee drinking, people have enjoyed different flavors and experiences with this beverage. The first coffee beans were grown in Ethiopia in the 6th century AD. Coffee was originally traded as a drink for slaves. Over time, different methods were developed to roast coffee beans and make it more flavorful. In 1847, Dutch traders discovered coffee seeds while sailing through the Straits of Magellan and brought them back to Europe. They began growing coffee plants in Java and Indonesia and started marketing Indonesian coffee as their own product. The first Starbucks opened its doors in Seattle, Washington in 1976. The origins of espresso are also interesting to explore because it is said that Antonio Borrelli, an Italian roaster who worked at twoearly Italian cafes in Paris, invented espresso on November 12th 1865 at Borrelli’s Cafe Imperiale (later known as La Caffè della Scala). In 1896, Baron Bruno Goethe visited Italy where he tasted some of the best espresso being made by Antonio Borrelli and decided that this would be the perfect flavor profile for his new German-made café Roquefort Beignets popularized by Beigneberg Brothers department store chain throughout Germany during World War I (see below). From then until now there has been no other espresso-based drink that has achieved unprecedented global popularity like cappuccino or latte artichoke – both items are still enjoyed by millions every day! Coffee became widely available outside of Italy following World War II when American troops invaded Italy to liberate it from fascism. Coffee beans from across North Africa were brought into Rome via submarines to meet what could be considered the “Italian market”; however due to strict rationing policies set up by Mussolini’s regime these beans only reached Rome after they had been roasted and ground locally at a small number of mills located near Colle Oppio (Rome), one such mill being owned by Giorgio Agnelli himself! This early Italian advertising campaign featured pictures of soldiers with cups of piping hot Italian coffee inside NATO headquarters at Rheinhausen while battlefield reports described Allied forces advancing through the Alps! Coffee availability increased rapidly once liberated from Mussolini’s control; however unfortunately due to high taxes levied on production groundscoffee became increasingly expensive which hindered its commercial viability worldwide!
The first gourmet coffee was brewed in 1906 by French roaster and cafe owner Charles de Gaulle. De Gaulle's café served quality, imported coffee that was roasted on site. This was followed by other cafes and restaurants starting to sell gourmet coffee, which became increasingly expensive and rare. In the early 1990s, a Dutchman named Philips introduced the first truly international espresso chain with its own roasting plant in Italy.
Allen, Texas was founded in 1836 by John T. Allen and his family. The town was named after Captain James H. Allen who fought in the Mexican-American War. The first post office was established in Allen on November 15, 1836. By 1870, the population of Allen had grown to over 1,000 people and it became a city on July 1, 1876. During World War II, Allen served as an air raid warning center for Dallas and other cities in North Texas. In 1970, the city annexed nearby Garland to form a new city government with a population of over 30,000 people. On December 21st of that year, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 9 which proposed that the name of the currentAllen Municipal Airport be changed from Garland Municipal Airport to "Allen Municipal Airport".
Allen was founded in 1874 by John L. Allen and his family. The town grew quickly due to the booming cattle industry, becoming one of the most important settlements in central Texas. The community thrived until the late 1800s, when railroad construction began cutting off access to markets and jobs. The population dwindled until it all but disappeared during World War II, when the town was evacuated for fear of Japanese ancestry residents who had taken up arms against their government. In recent years, Allen has seen a resurgence in development with new businesses and homes opening up around town.
