Soddy Daisy is a small town in central Tennessee, United States. The population was 4,848 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lexington–Fayette Micropolitan Statistical Area. Soddy Daisy is about an hour's drive from downtown Nashville and about two hours from Knoxville. Soddy Daisy was founded in 1892 by John Dickey and his family. In 1898, the town had a population of just over 100 people. By 1920, it had grown to 2,000 people and by 1930 it had reached 3,000 people. The postwar boom brought more jobs to Soddy Daisy, but they also caused some problems – such as high levels of crime and pollution. However, since the late 1990s there has been an increase in businesses in Soddy Daisy and this has led to a gradual rebound in the community's fortunes. Today, Soddy Daisy features many active businesses including three banks (the Jardine Bank & Trust Company, First Federal Savings Bank & Trust Company and Manufacturers Hanover Savings Bank), several hospitals (University Medical Center-Knoxville and Lenoir Hospital-Downtown), as well as several schools (Hamilton County Junior College - south side; Davidson Community College - east side; Bryant Community College - north side). There are also several parks located around town which offer opportunities for outdoor recreation including swimming pool/bathing area on Cannery Creek; tennis courts at Armistead Park; hiking trails through woods near school; golf courses located near other towns nearby; a small shopping plaza with several convenience stores and one large grocery store; as well as two churches: First Baptist Church which serves as the community's main church services center while Second Baptist Church provides worship for locals who may be outside of the village limits or unable to attend services at larger churches).

Soddy Daisy is a small town in Knox County, Tennessee, United States. It is located on the Cumberland River and was founded by General Nathan Bedford Forrest in 1881. The community was named after Soddy Daisy Creek, which flows through it. Soddy Daisy has a population of about 375 people as of 2010. The first settler in Soddy Daisy was Levi Waddell, who arrived in 1881. He built his home on the outskirts of the community and operated a ferry service between nearby Clarksville and Soddy Daisy until he died in 1907. A second settler, James Hodge, arrived in 1882 and started farming around what is now the eastern edge of the town. He also operated a grocery store and post office. In 1886, General Forrest came to Soddy Daisy with his cavalry brigade to help settle some dispute between two families about ownership of an tract of land near the creek. When he got there, he discovered that many people were living there without proper infrastructure or sanitation – something that would become very common throughout Forrest's tenure as governor of Tennessee (1886-1892). In 1889, General Forrest organized the First Cherokee Nation from parts of Georgia and Alabama under Confederate general Jubal Early. The Indians wanted to be their own country but were forced into cooperation with Union forces during World War II under MacArthur's orders when they realized that they could not fight against American forces alone. This led to some tension within the Cherokee Nation over whether or not they should have retained their autonomy as part of America orswitch allegiance to Britain or Japan – this issue would come up again decades later when protests over Obama's executive action on immigration began
