On November 8, 1922, the first pistol shooting event was held in Shelbyville. The event was organized by then-Mayor A.C. Caldwell and local Rifleman’s Association member Rufus Wooten. There were only twelve people who showed up to the first meeting, but soon enough a group of twenty had gathered to start their own rifle Shooting Competition on October 12th. That same year, the Shelbyville Pistol Club formed with Mayor Caldwell as its initial president. Their purpose was to promote pistol shooting in Shelbyville and to provide instruction for members and visitors alike. This organization would later become known as the Shelbyville Pistol Club Foundation Incorporated (now called the NRA). In 1924, Mayor Caldwell passed an ordinance that allowed handguns to be owned by individuals without having to go through a permit process. This law allowed Pistol Clubs throughout town to begin teaching handgun safety skills to their members and tourists alike. In 1927, Mayor Caldwell passed an ordinance that established a city government gun registry which would eventually lead to the establishment of the current firearms store owner/operator in downtown Shelbyville named ARMS Firearms Sales & Service LLC today! The early years of pistolsighting in Shelbyville were difficult due primarily to lack of resources and infrastructure at our disposal! However, over time we’ve come a long way thanks in part to dedicated volunteers from our community who continue To this dayTo promote pistol shooting within our walls!

Shelbyville is a small town in Union County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,817 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from the Shelby Plantation, which was once a large and prominent slaveholding plantation. The first settler in Shelbyville was John Shelby. He arrived in 1795 and built a cabin on the bank of the Little Tennessee River. In 1819, he sold his interest in the plantation to General Andrew Jackson for $10,000. The area around Shelbyville became known as "the plantations of Shelbyville." After Jackson's death, his widow divided his estate among her children. Most of what is now called "the plantations" passed through ownership by different families until they were purchased by Sam Houston in 1907-09 for $2 million dollar sale price. Houston's family had been involved with slave trading since their early days as planters and traders in Texas. When they acquired land near Chattanooga they began to free slaves but also continued to traffic slaves across state lines into Alabama and Georgia. In 1830 they bought 4 miles (6 km) of land north of Memphis on the Cumberland River for $1 million dollars and began building Mission Ridge Farmstead; it would eventually be renamed after them – Sam Houston State University today stands on part of that original farmstead parcel). One key figure associated with Houston's purchase of this property was James Polk Jr., who later served as President Ulysses S Grant’s Vice Presidential running mate during Grant’s term from 1868-1872 (and thus played an important role in both Presidents'agos). One reason why so much attention has been given to Sam Houston State University (SHSU) over time is because it occupies some large parcels of land donated or leased by various individuals or groups including: Drayton Sandoval (presidential candidate for Mexico 1988), Jock Mahlon (founder/owner/director emeritusof WSMV-TV), Gussie Howe (founder & CEO/chairman emeritusofWHYY-FM), Lamar Hunt Sr.(co-founder & CEOofthelawfirmHuntChambers), Donny Hathaway(founder&CEOoftheholdingshopDannenfelser corp.), Claiborne Pell (founder & CEOofPellGulfstreamCorp.) There are currently more than 100 students enrolled at SHSU – many initially recruited through online ads placed by campus search engines such as Google+, MSN*, Yahoo!*, and Kijiji*. *Some students are enrolled at other universities while others have transferred from local high schools

Shelbyville, Tennessee was founded in 1819 by James Shelby. The city is named after General Andrew Jackson and his wife, Rachel Shelby. The community was established on the east bank of the river Cumberland River and became an important agricultural center in the area. In the early years of its existence, the city was a small village with just a few hundred residents. However, due to its location on a strategic trade route and its importance as a military town during the Civil War, Shelbyville grew rapidly into one of the most significant cities in Tennessee. Today, it remains a vibrant community with a rich history that has been influenced by both American and European cultures. Born in 1796 in what is now parts of Kentucky, James Shelby moved to western Virginia when he was sixteen. He worked his way up through local politics and eventually became president of West Virginia in 1827. When Jackson was elected president in 1828, Shelby offered him his seat on the Tennessee state board of trustees. As mayor of Knox County (now Memphis), he helped create infrastructure for Jackson’s presidential campaign and played an important role in helping get Jackson elected as president. After being appointed secretary of war under President John Quincy Adams, he served under Ulysses S. Grant during Reconstruction until he resigned from office because of differences over patronage reform within Grant’s administration. From 1865 to 1867, Shelby served as chairman of the Republican National Committee before moving back to Knox County to become mayor again after Grant’s death at age eighty-four years old. In 1861, while Confederate forces were attacking Fort Sumter on Staten Island, Sevier County resident Thomas Fenton decided to take action against Confederate troops located nearby at Fort Donelson near Nashville – an event that is still commemorated annually by regional festival held there each fall called “Fenton’s Rebellion Day Festival festivities include music performances by country artists including Dixie Chicks and Willie Nelson; games such as dodge ball; hot dogs; soft drinks; concession stands serving food such as chicken fingers and pizza;and rides like log ride or go-karting around fortifications including cannons." After months preparing for battle – which included mining coal from nearby hills – several thousand men finally arrived at Donelson on April 12th 1861″ only for Union General Nathan Bedford Forrest to relieve them three days later following heavy losses among Confederate forces led by Robert E Lee On July 16th 1861 Govburn Burbridge wrote: "I know that many Virginians are very disgusted with our course & think we should have surrendered immediately rather than fight so long". However Governor Burnet Burbridge went public with doubts about whether or not surrender would have saved lives since if they had capitulated "it would have meant certain destruction" making it difficult instead for Richmond "to put into effect their designs respecting our territory," leading some Virginians who supported secessionist causes ""to regard us seriously as traitors."" By September 1861 all Rebels had been captured or killed except for two dozen soldiers who retreated back across Cumberland River into Kentucky . This event effectively ended any possibility for Southern extremists like Stonewall JACKSON remaining active outside Tennessee
Shelbyville was founded in 1799 by Peyton Randolph and James Shelby. It served as a military post on the Cumberland Plateau from 1805 to 1814, during the War of 1812. In 1830, it became the seat of Jefferson County. The town reached its peak in population during the early 19th century, with over 10,000 residents. However, it experienced a rapid decline after 1850 due to economic factors such as increasing trade with neighboring cities and states and the growing availability of railroad transportation. By 1870, Shelbyville had only 2,500 residents remaining and it ceased to exist as an independent municipality.
