The United States Air Force has a long history of deployed gifts to its citizens. This tradition began in World War II when theAAF created the Military Assistance Command air forces program to support the Allies war effort. The gift-giving tradition continued through the Cold War and into the 21st century. Today, the USAF Gift History Center archives over 1 million military items and gifts that have been sent or given to American citizens. These items range from small tokens of appreciation such as an Emblem keychain or a service dog’s chew toy, to large donations such as a Boeing 707 jet airplane or an entire squadron of fighter planes. One of the most famous deployments of military goods was during Operation Desert Storm in 1991. During that conflict, General Colin Powell ordered all American troops on Iraqi soil be delivered with specially adapted armored cars and trucks called “Desert Foxes.” These vehicles were provided by Raytheon Company and Bascom International Corporation, both subsidiaries of Lockheed Martin Aircraft Co., which manufactured them for the USAF under contract from Northrop Grumman Corporation (now Lockheed Martin). Since 9/11, there have been numerous other deployments throughout Afghanistan and Iraq where USGift has played an important role in supporting our troops and allies. In each instance, USGift has donated a wide variety of supplies, equipment, vehicles and training materials - everything from tents to combat helmets to tanks!

Shelbyville, Tennessee is a small town located in Sevier County, Tennessee. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. Shelbyville is home to the Shelbyville Municipal Airport and the Shelbyville-Chrysler Automotive Museum. The area around Shelbyville was first settled by Europeans in the late 17th century. The town was named for John Shelby, an early settler. The first store in Shelbyville opened in 1814 and it was the only one in town until 1846 when a post office was established. In 1865, a railroad station was built south of town and served as the town's main transportation hub until 1960 when the local airport became operational. Since World War II, both industry and agriculture have dominated Knox County's economy but with recent growth affecting retail development as well as services such as healthcare and education, many people are reconsidering their status quo and looking to move to nearby towns or villages like Tellico Hills or Blacksburg while still maintaining close ties to their ancestral homes. Today, there are over fifty businesses operating in downtown Shelbyville including restaurants, bars/pubs/lounges, churches/mosques (including one of America's largest Muslim mosques), health clubs/spas/, wellshower baths/, auto dealerships/,and more! There are also several stores locally owned by individuals who continue to thrive despite economic challenges from global forces beyond their control – think farmer-owned cooperatives growing crops on large plots next door to Walmart; mom-and-pop businesses baking goods from scratch every night at their homes; etc.).

The mission was code named Operation Neptune’s Spear and it was one of the most successful airstrikes conducted by the USAF at that time. It is also interesting to note that many items given as gifts to members of the USAF over time have become collector’s items within the military community at large. These include items such as fighter jets and missiles, which are very rare to find outside of militaries or aerospace companies themselves.

Shelbyville is a small town in Shelby County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Memphis– Nashville– Chattanooga Combined Statistical Area. The first residents of Shelbyville were slaves who worked on cotton plantations in what is now southern Shelby County. In 1819, the state of Tennessee bought all of the slaves in that county and put them into a new courthouse located in nearby Lenoir City. This event marked the start of white settlement in what would become Shelbyville. In 1868, General John Custer's cavalry regiment stopped at Shelbyville for water while on their way to battle against Native Americans near present-day Bowling Green, Kentucky. The town clerk named him "Captain" and gave him an allotment of land for his house and barns. As Captain Custer's home became known as "Captain's House," it gained some importance among local people. In 1865, Confederate general Jubal Early attacked Union forces at Prentiss Station near Petersburg, Virginia; most of Early's force was destroyed but some 7 officers and over 50 men were killed or captured including Captain Custer himself. Seymour Knox had commandeered one unit of Early's cavalry detachment which escaped before any pursuit could be made and reached Shelbyville where they took to drink from a well outside the town limits until relieved by Union troops under Lieutenant Colonel Edwin Vickers which then burned out all remaining Confederate stores inside the town limits according to one account). In 1865 General Joe Johnston ordered General Averell Harriman to march his army northward through eastern Kentucky to cross over into Maryland; this operation failed due to bad weather conditions across much of Kentucky including parts of present-day Nashville and Memphis proper where Confederate forces were entrenched with artillery support from nearby Cheatham Barracks (now Lebanon National Cemetery). After crossing the Cumberland River at Clarksburg, Johnston's army retreated eastward towards Chattanooga after suffering heavy losses including captain Custer who died as a result from his wounds received that day during clashes with Union troops northeast of Clarksburg along I-40 just south of present-day downtown Memphis while commanding elementsOfthe 12th US Infantry Regiment commanded by Major George Armstrong Thomas (later First Lt Governor) during this campaign) less than two miles away from captain Custer’s position). Another source claims that captain custer was shot by sniper while leading infantry patrol northwest Of Clarksburg along I-40 just south OfpresentdowntownMemphis when he was discovered fleeing the scene assisted only by 2 privates
