The United States Naval Academy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee is home to the world's largest naval academy. It has been a source of pride for the community since 1885 when Commodore James W. Knox founded it as one of five US Naval academies. The navy has deployed forces here on multiple occasions and the university has played an important role in these deployments. The first deployment was during World War I when the US Navy sent cadets from Oak Ridge to serve in submarines off Newfoundland. later, during World War II, they sent cadets to fight in the Pacific Theater. After the war, there were deployments to Vietnam and Korea. There have also been deployments here for operations such as Operation Neptune's Spear and Operation Just Cause. In recent years, there have been deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. In 2006-2007, Oak Ridge hosted a NATO summit which was attended by then-President George W Bush and then-Prime Minister David Cameron. The conference produced some positive news stories about naval academy graduates who had gone into service abroad including Rear Admiral Jonathan Greenblatt who had commanded forces in Iraq before being promoted to admiral and now leads operations at American destroyer USS John F Kennedy (DDG 79). Additionally, another navy graduate from Oak Ridge was named Commander of Destroyer Squadron Twenty Nine (DESRON 29) after he distinguished himself while serving with his unit during Operation Neptune Spear - this event marked America's return back onto the battlefield after more than 100 years absence from action! In addition to its military value, Oak Ridge University has also bestowed great honors upon its sailors like winning two “Gold Medals” at international conferences sponsored by NATO – both awarded posthumously! This accolade comes as no surprise given that many of our graduates have served their country with distinction both on land and sea...

When the United States Navy deployed in World War II, they did so with a certain standard in mind: gifts for their personnel. Today, navy personnel can enjoy a wide variety of gift options thanks to the ever-growing online market for military surplus items. Whether you're looking to buy a new toy or just want to commemorate an occasion, there's a gift option for everyone out there. However, before we get into the specifics of what sailors could purchase as presents during wartime, it's important to remember that these gifts were not simply given out as tokens of appreciation - rather they were loved and appreciated by those who received them. Navy deployments have traditionally been occasions where friends and family join in on the fun by sending presents to one another. However, over time, there has also become a trend of Navy friends giving each other gifts as part of what is known as " Gift History." This tradition began when members of the navy would send each other small boxes filled with items such as clothes, tools, or gadgets. As everyone within the navy grew more experienced and swapping gifts became less common, this custom evolved into larger gift boxes that could hold anything from an item to a home-made kitchen appliance. Gifts given during naval deployments can often be personal favorites or things that someone special has long desired.
