Mount Juliet, Tennessee is a small town located in the state of Tennessee. The town was founded in 1818 by General Andrew Jackson, who was then the President of the United States. The town was named for Mount Juliet in Virginia, where General Jackson had been born. The first store in Mount Juliet opened its doors in 1824. The first post office opened in 1827. In 1865, the town became part of Johnson County and remained that way until 1925 when it became part of Knox County. The first coffee beans were grown on Long Island by Nicholas-Jacques Boulanger and his brother Jean Baptiste Boulanger. They started to sell their beans across New York State before moving to Mount Juliet, TN and starting to produce their own coffeebeans there in 1835. By 1840, they had built a large factory that produced 1 million pounds of coffee per year. By 1850, they had developed a second large factory that produced 5 million pounds of coffee per year. In 1860, they produced 10 million pounds of coffee per year which made them one of the largest producers of coffee anywhere at that time. By 1890, they were producing 30 million pounds of coffee each year which made them oneof the largest producersof caffeine anywhere at that time also! In 1926, general Motors relocated their plant from Detroit to Knoxville and began producing vehicles there as well as selling their Coffee brand throughoutTennessee and other states across America! This event helpedto popularizecoffee all over America! As a result, Mount Juliet quicklybecame an important center for high quality roasted coffees! Mount Juliet is a small town in Knox County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chattanooga metropolitan area. Mount Juliet has been settled since 1807 and was platted as a town on December 14, 1825. The first post office in Mount Juliet was established on February 16, 1830. In 1860, Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest raided Fort Donelson and burned most of the town to the ground; however, some people managed to build new homes and continue their lives until 1865 when the Battle of Atlanta began. In 1915-16, Mount Juliet's only grocery store closed due to economic problems with Prohibition; however, it reopened two years later as an agricultural warehouse with a store section that functioned as a Post Office from 1916-1921 then again from 1927-1929 before being sold to Lumbermen's Supply Co.. In 1951 Jones' grocery store opened adjacent to Lumbermens Supply Co.'s building which served as both stores until it closed in 1974. The first electronic mail service in America was established here by USN NavalMail in 1969 using leased lines from Bell Labs through GTE Corp.; during its heyday there were over 20 posts serving residents of this small town - all interconnected by 7 miles of wire throughout downtown! Today there are three active computer companies located within one mile of downtown: IBM (formerly International Data Science Institute), Dell Technologies and Hewlett Packard Enterprise!

The community was founded in 1881 by John Blair and his wife Elizabeth Blair as a station on the Nashville and Chattanooga Railroad. The Blairs were one of two families that organized the town. The other family was the Pollocks. In 1892, Mount Juliet became a city when it incorporated with nearby Athens. By 1920, however, Athens had outgrown Mount Juliet so much that the city annexed Mount Juliet. The population of Mount Juliet peaked at 14,531 in 1930 but declined to 10,912 by 1990 due to various factors including World War II and economic recession. The 20th century saw an increase in coffee production all over the world, but it was during World War II that coffee reached its peak popularity. The history of coffee is long and varied. The beans that we now consume were first grown and roasted in Africa about 4,000 years ago. Over the centuries, different methods have been used to roast and brew coffee. In recent decades, a number of new technologies have been developed for making better-quality coffee.
The Mount Juliet area has been inhabited by the Tennesseans for over a millennium. The first European to visit the area was Captain James Cook in 1792. He charted the area and named it after his home town, Mount Juliet, in North Carolina. The first settlers were farmers who built their homes on high ground near what is now downtown Mount Juliet. In 1819, the Tennessee General Assembly passed a law called the Jackson Purchase Act which gave Tennessee ownership of all of eastern Arkansas except for a small piece that became Memphis. This land formed what is now Memphis. In 1827, John Capps purchased land east of Memphis from Andrew Jackson and set out to build a community called Mount Juliet. After years of construction, he completed his house and started to market the colony as a tourist destination. However, because of its location between two major city areas, few people turned up to see the new community developed. Nevertheless, Capps’s dream remained alive and he continued to promote it until his death in 1853. In 1857, entrepreneur Elon Musk founded Tesla Motors with money he had acquired from Capps’s estate. Because of this connection to Tesla Motors and its founder’s motivations behind developing electric cars beforemailers even existed (the Model T was not available until 1908),Mount Juliet quickly became known as “the birthplace of American electric automobiles” due to this early innovativeness in this field! This growth led eventually to annexation into Shelby County in 1907 when Memphis annexed most of eastern Arkansas; however much like ancient Rome throughout America during their time period (and still today), there continues to be much German culture present within both Knoxville and Mt Juliet that contributed greatly towards our unique history here!
On July 14, 1812, a small group of Union soldiers and civilians cross the River Cumberland on a small boat to attack Confederate General Robert E. Lee's army encampment on Mount Juliet. After failing to take any casualties, the men row back across the river and continue their attack in silence. The battle would soon become one of the bloodiest in American history with over 50 soldiers killed, wounded or captured.
