Hildebrandt and continued to use it for target shooting until his death in 1954. His son, Fenton Jorgensen Jr., took over the business and continued to sell rifles until 1984 when he sold it to John Ladd of Knoxville, TN. In 1989, Ladd donated his rifle collection to the Mount Juliet Museum which included firearms from across Tennessee including several artillery pieces that had been used in World War II. Mount Juliet, Tennessee is a town in Butler County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,879 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1819 by General Andrew Jackson and named for his daughter Mount Juliet. The town was first organized as a village on August 12, 1819. On November 5 of that year, it became a town when the citizens of nearby Carbondale voted to incorporation by resolution. The first mayor of Mount Juliet was John Capps and the current mayor is Donny Hinson. In 1853–54, during the American Civil War, Mount Juliet served as an important supply depot for Union forces in Butler County. In 1865-66 it served as the headquarters of General Ulysses S. Grant's army during his march from Chattanooga to Knoxville after completing his drive against Confederate General Robert E. Lee In 1902–03 service began providing electricity to the community through what is now known as Municipal Electric Cooperative No. 2 (MECO). At that time there were only three residences in Mount Juliet; today all but one are gone and only one building remains standing on Main Street which has been renovated into retail space commercial/retail/residential

Mount Juliet, Tennessee is a town in Hawkins County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. Mount Juliet was platted in 1853 as a result of the concurrent platting of Hawkins and Murfreesboro counties. It is named after John C. Mount, an early settler. The first post office in Mount Juliet was established on February 14, 1854. The present building was built in 1898 and is one of the few remaining wooden buildings from the antebellum period in Tennessee. Located less than two miles (3 km) south of downtown Chattanooga, Mount Juliet became known for its high quality cotton plantations that produced crops such as corn and soybeans until the late 20th century. In 1966, Mt Juliet voted to become an incorporated city under the state law effective January 1st 1967 which allows cities with a population over 10,000 to apply for charter status which they hold until granted by the state government. On November 3rd of that year City Mayor Tom Mosely announced that incorporation had been approved and citizens were given nine months to prepare for annexation by Chattanooga; this never happened however because then-Chattanooga mayor Bill Campbell vetoed the charter application on December 9th due to concerns about financial stability within city limits should Chattanooga annex them without their consent filings being received or processed timely enough according to municipal requirements Mount Juliet has successfully lobbied various levels of government throughout its history including but not limited to: Congressmen (Frank Mankiewicz through Bob Ney), Governors (Bill Haslam through Phil Bredesen), and current Mayor Tom Mosely who has personally led efforts numerous times since becoming Mayor in 2013
Mount Juliet, Tennessee was originally settled in 1796 by the Holston family. The first European to land on the present-day site was Nicholas Holston, who named it after his brother, John Holston. In 1805, General Andrew Jackson and a small force of Confederate soldiers laid siege to Knoxville during the Battle of Flowers. The Union army was able to retreat without loss and took up position on Mount Juliet. For the next three years, there was intermittent fighting between Union and Confederate forces as both sides attempted to build artillery batteries and fortifications around their positions. In 1812, General James K. Polk arrived in Nashville with an invading army and ordered all Southern men over the age of twelve to enroll in military service or leave for good. Over 1 million people responded and by September 1812, most of Knoxville had deserted its garrison for Polk's cause. When Confederate General Braxton Bragg learned about this move he decided to mount a counterattack against Polk's advancing forces at Fort Pillow near Chattanooga. On October 12th, Bragg's Federal force attacked from behind while Polk was leading his main body into battle from a higher ground just outside of town. As soon as he realized what was happening he withdrew his troops before they could be overwhelmed by superior numbers; however, many were killed or captured while attempting to flee back into town. The battle resulted in a crushing defeat for the Confederacy and left muchof Knoxville burned down along with thousands of casualties including many Burnside Heroes such as Major General James Ewing (the future governor). Aftermath of this fight led directly to Sherman's march across Georgia that November resulting in more than 150 000 civilian deaths overall
