The Morristown National Guard was organized on September 17, 1861. It was the first military unit in Tennessee. The unit served as a part of the Confederate States of America until 1865. After the war, the Morristown National Guard disbanded on October 1, 1866. However, it reformed on November 4, 1868 and served through Reconstruction in Tennessee. The unit again disbanded after the end of Reconstruction in 1971. The Morristown National Guard's history begins with its organization on September 17, 1861. At that time, there were only three volunteer units in Tennessee: the Knoxville Volunteers (1860), Chattanooga Volunteers (1861), and Murfreesboro Volunteers (1862). In 1862, because of Confederate troop movements within Tennessee, these three units were combined into one brigade under Colonel John C Bellamy and Lieutenant General James H Hardin. On February 14, 1865, General Order No 9 issued by Confederate Governor Isaac P Brown called for all Volunteer forces to disband unless they surrendered unconditionally to Union forces. On March 10th at 2pm local time all Volunteer units except those from Cumberland County dispersed without any battle or resistance leaving behind over 400 men and boys who would later become known as "thelost Battalion". Approximately 350 men from Cumberland County formed an ad hoc force to escort members of the lost battalion back home across county lines before finallydisbandling on October 1st due to lack of resources and manpowerShowing once again how decentralized army camps had become during this period reports state that "no trained officers or non-commissioned officers remained anywhere near enough man power" In 1865 there was no state guard system in place so individual counties formed their own militias as needed while also contributing troops to brigades which often operated outside state lines during this time period according to Don Armstrong a historian for Morristown National Military Park . After Reconstruction ended in 1971 most volunteers disbanded but some continued operations through 1974 when it became possible for volunteer organizations to bechartered with full military status however these eventually disbanded as well . Today there is still active duty activity with both local militia groups operating out of national security ranges such as Camp Campbell and Fort Lovell located within Morristown limits while also providing law enforcement services throughout central TN

From its creation until 1865, the Morristown National Guard served in different capacities, including guard duty, infantry drill squads and company headquarters detachments. Morristown is a town in Muskegon County, Michigan, United States. The population was 5,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Rapids–Muskegon–Holland Metropolitan Statistical Area. Morristown was founded in 1827 by Methodists and Quakers. The first settler in Morristown was John Hargrave. He built a cabin on the west side of the river in 1827 and named his settlement after his birthplace, Morriston, England. Other early settlers were James Atkinson and John Shields. In 1830, Levi Booth settled downstream from Hargrave's cabin on land that he purchased from David Laird for $200 In 1837, James Mather became the first postmaster of Morristown when he took office from William Laughton. In 1840, George Fenton moved to Morristown from Greenville Township and started a tannery there. By 1845, about 60% of all tanning activity in Muskegon County had been carried out in Morriston by Fenton and his employees. The town reached its peak during the late 19th century with over 200 businesses employing more than 2,000 people During World War I (1914-1918), many Americans left their homes to serve in military service and take up arms against Germany or Austria-Hungary They brought with them their skills as tanneries experts who created uniforms for American troops After World War II ended (1948), many businesses closed down because of continuing economic recession People living near downtown experienced high levels of pollution due to burning oil associated with automobiles
