The United States Navy has deploying gift history in La Vergne, Tennessee for over a century. The USS Constitution (1890-93) and USS Helena (1917-19) were the first warships in the navy to deploy gifts to countries during World War I. The USS Mariner (1918-1920) was also deployed with gifts during World War I. The USS Tuscaloosa (1945) and USS Brunswick (1948-1950) were the last naval vessels to deploy gifts before they decommissioned in 1960 and 1970, respectively. Commodore Porter had initially dispatched Lt Folsom as a goodwill gesture towards Japan after their recent victory against Ulysses S Grant's army at Shiloh Field near Nashville in November 1890. In return for his services during this conflict Commodore Porter agreed to provide food and clothing stores destroyers that could be converted into submarines when needed by Japanese forces operating off Korea Peninsula or Manchuria under General Yamamoto Atoumi during campaigns there in early 1904 or early 1905 known as Russo-Japanese War 1 & 2 or Meiji Period War). Upon her return from her cruise Commodore Porter ordered all ships present including Constitution to sail back through Honolulu Harbor on March 7th 1892 en route again via Manila Bay then via Pearl Harbor before arriving at Savannah, Georgia on April 4th 1892 after traversing more than 20,000 miles watercourse nonstop! USS Helena sailed from Hampton Roads aboard MV Independence October 17, 1917 for rendezvous with USNS Alabama which was already underway bound southbound convoy HG 25 prior to Operation Neptune's Spear that aimed to compel Imperial Japanese Army commander General Mitsuru Tojo to surrender his forces around Kyushu Islands following their successful seizure of Taiwan Province from Chinese Nationalists earlier that year. Onboard HMS Highlander each ship carried 1 ton emergency stores which were intended primarily for use if either ship ran out of food or fuel while underway but proved useful when both ships suffered engine failures due to bad weather during their voyage westward across the South China Sea - thus allowing them safe passage without being torpedoed by Japanese submarines while transiting through Reed Bank area! Upon reaching Yokosuka Harbour she unloaded her cargo before sailing for Kobe harbor under cover of darkness en route to Sadahara Airport where she would pick up additional refugees disembarking from other ships prior to landfall on Honshu Island

La Vergne, Tennessee is a town in Davidson County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 3,724 at the 2010 census. La Vergne was founded in 1868 by General John C. Breckinridge and his wife Anna Meyer Breckinridge as a small community on the banks of the Cumberland River. It became an incorporated town in 1889. La Vergne is located at 36°47′23″N 80°27′39″W (36.953 N 80.373 W). The first white settlers in La Vergne were Reuben Tate and his family who came from Illinois in 1853; they built a log cabin on the east side of the river near present-day downtown LaVergne. In 1868, General John C. Breckinridge and his wife Anna Meyer Breckinridge founded La Vergne as a small community on the banks of the Cumberland River with just 10 residents. TheBreckinridges named their new settlement after their father-in-law general Ulysses S Grant who had helped lead America during the American Civil War and had moved to Memphis to become assistant secretary of war under President Abraham Lincoln before returning to Washington D.C., where he served two terms as Mayor of Memphis before dying in 1869 at age 72 years old while still serving as Assistant Secretary of War under Lincoln In 1889, LaVergene became an incorporated town when it absorbed neighboring communities such as rural Hardeman County to form one municipality with a total population of 5,521 people including 2,419 males and 1,811 females). Over time, more businesses opened up within LaVergnue’s borders: real estate agents (such as Hernando Forde & Son), grocery stores (Foley’s Grocery Store), restaurant/cafeteria operators (Plymouth Serve Inc.), auto dealerships (Chrysler Corp.), funeral homes/ crematories (Moses Funeral Home) etc., which made it easier for residents to get around without having to go out into open country or downriver Roads like US Highway 231 which were then traveled only by horseback or wagon until about 1930 when automobiles began entering into popular use throughout much of Tennessee On January 1st, 2009 LaVergnue became one more city in Davidson County when Springsville annexed it making it now part of Chattanooga Metropolitan Statistical Area .
