The United States Air Force Deployed Gift History Program began in 1951 by order of then-President Harry Truman. The purpose of the program was to recognize and remember individuals who have made a significant impact on the Air Force through their donations, service or sacrifices. Since its inception, the AFDP has honored more than 2,500 individuals with awards and gifts totaling over $225 million.
