From 1961 until 1966 he was also Commandant of the United States Coast Guard Academy and he retired in 1966. In 1969 Commodore J. Clifford Hyland was appointed Superintendent of Naval Air Station Jacksonville and he remained in that position until his retirement in 1984. Commodore Hyland's successor was Rear Admiral P. Tommie Biddle who served as Superintendent from 1984 until 1988. From 1988 until 1992 Vice Admiral John Aiken relieved Vice Admiral Aiken and became Assistant Adjutant General for Research and Development at Navy Headquarters which he held until his retirement in 1995. In 1995 Rear Admiral Timothy Jorgensen succeeded rear admiral Timothy Jorgensen as Assistant Adjutant General for Research and Development at Navy Headquarters effective 1 October 1995 The first naval gift history occurred when Rear Admiral David Beatty gave a Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft to NAS Memphis during World War II . The aircraft is currently on display at the Aviation Museum of America located at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii . East Ridge is a small town in Knox County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 514 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Cumberland River just east of Knoxville. East Ridge was named for the ridge that runs along its eastern border. The community was founded in 1892 by Methodist ministers and their families who were moving from Chattanooga to escape religious persecution there. The first store in East Ridge opened in 1893 and was run by Mrs. Gentry and her husband, Jeptha Gentry. They sold goods such as flour, sugar, eggs, butter, cheese, applesauce and other groceries to local farmers and consumers. In 1924 the Gentry family sold the business to A.B Hatton which continued to operate it until 1987 when it became part of Pinnacle Foods Incorporated. Pinnacle Foods operated the store until 2003 when it merged with Kroger Company subsidiary Food Lion Corporation to form Kroger/Food Lion Corporation (the former name of Kroger). In 2006, Food Lion announced plans to close all its stores nationwide within two years due to financial difficulties; however, this plan changed after customer outcry led them to keep some stores open while trying new strategies. In 2011 Pinnacle Properties Trust assumed complete ownership of all assets of Food Lion Corporation including East Ridge store #82711 which closed in May2011 following a long line up for occupancy leading up to closure during regular holiday season sales period only;[1] originally planned for Thanksgiving week only but due largely because demand from customers during regular business hours prevailed over potential holiday weekend empty store openings.[2][3] On December 1st 2011,[4] all 82711 stores across the country closed effective immediately pending regulatory approvals for conversion into apartments or office space.[5][6][7] On January 25th 2012,[8] Kroger/Food Lion Corporation announced they had received final regulatory approvals allowing them to re-open all Stores under their new name - Albertsons Companies LLC - with more than 2200 employees impacted as well as an impending donation of property adjacent thereto used by Kroger/Food Lion Corp., making it possible for residents of affected neighborhoods access grocery shopping again soon after.[9][10][11] As result Of this reopened Albertsons Companies LLC Grocery Shopping Store locations will be located at: East Ridge Town Center – 6404 Gayles Road Knoxville – 11201 Broadway Street New Lenox – 222 North State Street [12][13]
