There is no doubt that Crossville, Tennessee has a rich coffee history. The town was founded in 1819 by Colonel John Sevier and his wife, Rachel. Sevier operated a small store in the small town until he moved to Nashville to start a cotton plantation. There he met and married Sarah Goodloe, who was from neighboring Lenoir County. They started a grocery store in the town which soon became known as the best in Crossville. In 1861 Colonel Sevier’s son, John Sevier Jr., began operating the old Post Office building on Main Street. The building still stands today and is home to the current Crossville Coffee Company. The first coffee roaster in Crossville was likely Dutch Bros./Rogers Roasters located on 3rd Avenue North opposite of the courthouse (now part of the Central Library). This business was established around 1912 and served at least six customers before it closed its doors for good in 1966. Dutch Bros./Rogers Roasters played an important role in early cross-country coffee transportation because they were one of the first businesses to offer trucked coffee delivery service throughout much of America. It is interesting to note that this same business also made Java Joes - a type of hot dog with beans - which are still popular today amongCrossville residents! In 1925, Captain Tom Richards bought land adjacent to what is now known as Richardson Park off State Route 421 near Interstate 24/Upper Cumberland Rd.. Captain Tom Richards had been running an inn called Highwayside Inn since 1923 when it opened on Powell Place just east of downtown Nashville across from Sears Department Store #1 (now Belk) & #2 (now Macy’s). At that time Richards had two cafes serving breakfast & lunch: Highwayside Inn Cafe & Captains Cook House Cafe (& later Captains Resthouse). In 1951 Richards sold all his interest in Highwayside Inn cafe & continued operation asCaptains Cook House Cafe(later renamed Johnny Appleseed's Coffee Shop). On July 1st 1954Captain Tom Richards passed away suddenly after many years of successful restaurant operation including over fifty years at Highwayside Inn cafe where he spent countless happy hours drinkingearly morning cups of Joe while overlooking his beautiful Hickory Valley gardens thru open windows... A memorial dinner honoring Captain Tom Richards will be held at 7pm tonight atthe Highland Manor Hotel followed bya public auction featuring items fromCaptainTomRichards' life including farm equipment, automobiles etc.) When state Route 421 crossed over into Knox County there were only 1 or 2 gas stations available so drivers had to stop along either side for fuel. One such station was located on Bridge Road north of I-24 near present day Broadway Road west of Highway 61 (the original route taken by SR 421). This station was called The GAS STATION OF CHOICE because it offered gasoline, ice cream and cigarettes free to drivers during winter months! Drivers could also purchase refreshments such as candy bars or soft drinks from this station! Unfortunately this particular GAS STATION OF CHOICE closed its doors circa 1970 despite numerous offers from local restaurateurs to reopen it! It should be noted that this particular GAS STATION OF CHOICE actually reopened under new ownership sometime afterwards!! You can still see remnants of this GAS STATION OF CHOICE structure lying northeast corner OfHighway 61OldBroadwayRoadjustoutsideCrossville!! One other early cross-country transportation option used by coffee drinkerswas horse drawn wagons filled with beans arriving via road bridges crossing over TN River valleys leading up into central Kentucky etc.? These crossings occurred approximately every 6 weeks or so and travelers would unload their beans at various points along the way before continuing their journey south? Sometimes wagon trains would even include entire families living together while traveling??? Some believe these crossings may have been more significant than others given that large amounts of silverware, dishes, china etc., were often transported through these routes?? Unfortunately due primarilytobridgefailuresandlocals being several miles downriver rather than close enoughtouseforxpostage& pickupwe cannot positively confirm anyofthisconnectionsbut intriguinglyenoughoneofthoseroadbridgesstill remains unchanged from whenhealtookitover70years ago!!!!

By 1830, Nicholson had built a large business in the Crossville area and quickly became known as one of the leading coffee importers in the region. Over time, other businesses began to open up in Crossville and it soon became an important commercial center for the area. In 1854, a group of businessmen spearheaded the creation of what is now known as the Nashville Coffee Company. This company ran a number of successful businesses before eventually merging with another company in 1865. With this new organization,Crossville began becoming one of the most important coffee-producing communities in central Tennessee. Throughout its history, Crossville has been an important node on the coffee industry chain and has helped make this community one of America's most prolific coffee sourcing regions. Today, Crossville remains a major hub for coffee culture and production – thanks largely to its rich colonial history!
Crossville is a town in Davidson County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,722 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Nashville metropolitan area. The name Crossville comes from the Cherokee word "kuru" meaning "crossroads." The first crossroad in Crossville was on Main Street and it was called the "Crossville Road" because it connected two other small towns in Canaan Valley: Crossville and Scottsboro. In 1875, a post office called Crossville was established at the intersection of Hebron Pike and Church Road. By 1907, when Crossville incorporated as a town, all of its residents were registered to vote. In 1861-1862 during the American Civil War, General John Bell Hood's brigade passed through Crossville on their way to Battle Creek where they destroyed supplies for Union forces there. This event is mentioned by local historian Wm Hite in his book "The Life and Times of John Bell Hood". After the war ended, many Confederate soldiers settled in Crossville, some coming north after being pardoned by Ulysses S. Grant. Many new businesses were started here such as grocery stores and sawmills that supplied staple items to nearby Nashville while others continued trading goods with nearby Cumberland Valley until around 1930 when aviation became an important factor in CrossVILLE’s growth engine due to its location between Nashville and Chattanooga (and later Knox County) making this one of America’s “Gateway Cities” for air travel into post-war Tennessee! Today’s economy has grown not only due to advancements made by technology but also through tourism which continues to grow thanks to visitors attractions like The Cave Museum & Aquarium; Rivers Edge Casino Resort; restaurants like Pritchard's BBQ & Grille; bed & breakfasts like Timberlands Inn Bed & Breakfast; plus local contractors who provide services such as landscape maintenance/maintenance or Home Depot Yard Care!

Here are some less well-known beans that make up the history of coffee: The first coffee came from Ethiopia in 3rd century BC. It was grown in two areas: Tigray and Harar. The Ethiopian people used a type of wild cherry tree as their source of this drink. The first cup of coffee was made by monks in 1295 AD. Java has been enjoyed by humans for over 4,500 years! Archeological evidence shows that Java was part of an area called India before becoming Indonesia in 1814 AD. The first written record mentioning Coffee was from 1087 AD when Ibn Battuta mentioned Coffee in his travelogue The Mahabharata! In 1521, Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan had reached Java and tasted Coffee for the first time! From now on, Coffee would be associated with Spain! In 1777 AD, Dutchman Hendrik de Vries discovered ground Bean at Roermond’s mill while working on an engineering project for his company Amsterdam Waterbedelijke Compagnie (AWBC). AWBCOWNERS were interested in this new discovery so they started marketing Dutch processed Coffee as early as 1777AD under the name “De Koffie van Holland” or "Koffie van Nederland"!!! This same year saw doorway between Netherlands and Belgium opened which allowed trade between these countries increased!! Soon after this event Dutch traders started importing African slaves who began cultivating Coffee plantations outside of Europe!!!! It wasn't until 1824 when Frenchman Charles Boulanger discovered roasted Bean while working on a plantation near Toulouse - France!!! At this point French traders became interested in trading with America!!!!! By 1830 French jugglers had brought Beans back to Paris where they roasting them at home!!! With its unique flavor profile, Roasted Bean quickly gained popularity throughout France!!!!!!!!!!!!! From here it spread to other parts of Europe where it continues to grow today!!!!!

Crossville is a city in Franklin County, Tennessee. The population was 9,827 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1855 by wagon drivers and their families who were coming down the Cumberland River on their way to Nashville. Crossville became a town in 1879. In 1907, it became part of the new Nashville-Davidson metropolitan area. The first post office in Crossville was established on December 12, 1855, by George Witherspoon and his family from Louisville, Kentucky. The original Post Office building still stands today as a museum within the city limits of Crossville. The citizens of Crossville voted on January 10, 1867 to incorporate as a town. On November 6th of that year they passed an ordinance setting up a government with three branches: Mayor, Aldermen and School Board members. On January 3rd 1870 voters approved adopting the name "Crossville" for the city limits which now encompass all but one block of downtown (now known as Midtown). The first schools were built in what are now central parts of downtown Crossville and started operating September 1st 1870 under direction of Mayor Prentice Hamer and School Board member John Troup II Sr.. These early school buildings can still be seen today including Mrs Hamer's home which is currently used as the municipal library annexe. From 1865 until 1902 the only mail service throughcrossville was via stagecoach from Lebanon to Clarksburg; this service stopped when crossVILLEs railroad reached town center late 1800’s In 1897 when David Lawson purchased land east of Main Street he began construction on what would become known as Lawson Hill which later housed several churches including First Baptist Church (1898), Second Baptist Church (1901) and Third Baptist Church (1903). This addition to downtown has been designated Lewis & Clark College Campus since that time On July 1st 1902 after years efforts by citizens crossVILLE residents elected Dr JF Craven Mayor for a four term period startingJanuary 1st 1903 thru December 31st 1904 After serving two terms he returned to private practice before being elected mayor again onJanuary 1st 1907 For another four years before resigning due to health problems On December 15th 1913 James Sutherfield took over fromDr JF Craven becoming mayor for an unexpired term mowing lawn forFranklin County Sheriff John Burch until 1915 when he succeeded Dr JF Craven As Mayor again effective January 1st 1916 until his death In 1924 mayoral candidate Willis Dickson won election but lost handily to incumbent James Sutherfield who had held onto office since 1917 When MrSutherfield died suddenly March 14th 1925 He was succeeded by his son Willis Dickson Jr., who served until his own death in 1977 . MrDickson’s wife Marjorie Goodin served as interim mayor while their son Willis ran unopposed for reelection in 1978 ..Today Central Business District located around Government Center blocks away includes many large commercial facilities such as Walmart Supercenter across from there main intersection with I-75 exit #335 & I-40 exit #236
Crossville was chartered in 1821 and named for General David Robertson, who fought in the Mexican-American War. The town became a cotton center during the years following the war, and soon had a population of over 100 people. In 1881, Crossville was renamed Memphis International Airport after then-President James Buchanan.
