The Collierville Air Force Base was originally established in the early 1940s as a United StatesAAF depot. It played a major role in World War II, and during the Korean War it served as an air base for American forces. The base has since been closed, but its history is still very important to the community. In 1969, the Air Force Foundation donated 2,000 acres of land at Collierville to the town of Collierville in order to create a military-industrial complex. However, this project was short-lived and the land reverted back to civilian control in 1973. Today, Collierville is home to one of America's largest small businesses districts—theCollierville Economic Development District—and several large defense contractor firms. One of Collierville's most famous residents is General Colin Powell, whoserved as US Secretary of State from 2001-2007 and also served as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2005-2007. Powell is well known for his work on counterterrorism and national security issues. He has also been involved with many other civic initiatives throughout his life including serving on boards for both local schools and more recently being an advocate for renewable energy sources such as solar power.

Collierville is a small town in Williamson County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,624 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Knoxville–Murfreesboro–Anderson Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Collierville community began as a small farming village on the banks of the Roanoke River in 1892. A post office was established there in 1893, and by 1900 the village had developed into an agricultural center with 11 stores, 5 schools, and a few residences. By 1910 Collierville had grown to include 158 residents and 10 businesses. Thecollierville Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1914, and by 1920 it had become one of the largest volunteer fire departments in Tennessee. In 1922 Collierville became a city with its own police department and fire department; it retains this status today. In 1925 local businessman Lamar Jarrell built what would become his most famous landmark – collierville Dam – which impounds water from the Roanoke River for irrigation purposes. Today collierville Dam remains one of colliserville's most popular tourist attractions; it has been featured on several television programs including "The Amazing Race" and "MythBusters". In addition to its cultural attractions, collierville also offers a variety of commercial enterprises that support local economies: manufacturing plants operated by Coke (colliverty bottling), Ford Motor Company (a car dealership), General Mills (chocolate products), Tyson Foods (poultry products) and Sears & Roebuck (a Sears & Co.) store located on Main Street near Interstate 40/US 421 interchange). Today Collierville is home to 2 high schools: John Kelly High School which serves students throughout Williamson County as well as parts of Hardin County; and Dawson Intermediate School which serves students within Jefferson County only. There are also numerous homeschooling organizations operating inCollierville; these homeschooling organizations provide education for children ages 4-18 years old who live in Williamson or Hardin Counties while their parents work outside of those counties

In addition there are often exhibits about USAF history books that have been donated by individuals or businesses Since its establishment, the USAF Military Aviation Museum has hosted numerous international visitors including members of Russia's Aeroflot airline; Saudi Arabia's Royal Saudi Air Force; Germany's Luftwaffe; Japan's JAAF; Italy's AF Militari; Belgium's Royal Belgica Airforce Regiment No 1 Squadron RAF Cobhams etc.; Denmark's Danmarks National Guard Regiment No 4 Squadron RAF Coltishall etc.; Netherland’s Geleen Airforce Base No 184 squadron RAF Emmen etc.; Luxembourg’sAir Force Academy (French: École de l'Air Française); Canada’s CFB Kingston & Dyess AFB TX etc.; Australia’s RAAF Pearce Ranges etc., among others

Collierville is a small town located in the state of Tennessee. The population was 1,101 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Davidson County and has a land area of just over 16 square miles. The history of Collierville began with two families who settled there in 1819. The first family to come to Collierville was the Reeds and they left behind their farmstead on the south side of town. Over time, other families followed suit and by 1890, Collierville had a total population of 3,898 people. In 1907, the Works Progress Administration erected a dam across Beaver Creek which created Lake Troutman. This made for more than one hundred jobs for local citizens and helped to revive Collierville’s economy during World War II when many colliers worked for the government supplying materials for war purposes. Since then,collievillers have built up their community by developing new businesses including an insurance company, several banks, a movie theater and several homesites that can be rented out year-round. Today, Collierville remains an important community in Davidson County and is known for its historical sites such as Beaver Dam Park and Lake Troutman which are still used today as recreational areas.
