Brentwood is a small town located in Chilton County, Tennessee. The population was 1,609 at the 2010 census. Brentwood is home to many businesses, including schools and churches. The community has a rich history that can be seen throughout the town. For example, Brentwood was once known as "The Garden of Eden." Brentwood began as a small frontier settlement in 1814. By 1840, it had reached its current size of 1,609 people. The community's first school opened in 1845 and continues to serve the local community to this day. Many of Brentwood's businesses were founded during the early years of the 20th century such as Jughead Hogg Paper mills and Potteries national company. Today, many residents still live in these businesses and continue to contribute to the local economy. At that time, the Portuguese were using small boats to transport goods from India to Portugal. One day, a sailor on a Portuguese boat saw an Indian fishing boat carrying gifts for the king of Portugal. He decided to take advantage of this opportunity and brought back some ancient weapons and gold coins as part of his cargo. This event is often cited as the beginning of the navy stationed in India. Gifts continued to be sent between Portugal and India until 1498, when King Richard II of England ordered all ships within his empire transporting goods or passengers must bring along a certain number of items (including books, art objects, spices and other valuable merchandize) worth at least £100 each. The total value of gifts sent by English sailors during this period was around £1 million! It is interesting to note that this order did not apply solely to ports located on English soil; any ship transporting goods or passengers between European countries was required to carry such items! In 1765, HMS Beagle sailed into Australian waters looking for new land sources for British exploration and soon discovered New South Wales (now Australia). The captain decided it would be wise to send along some presents from London - including wine bottles filled with money made during voyages home! Soon thereafter, other British possessions were added to Australia - including Tasmania (now Victoria), Western Australia (now Western Australia), Queensland (now Queensland) and Northern Territory (Now Australian Capital Territory). These possessions gave rise to numerous gift traditions within the navy itself... among these are Christmas present giving ceremonies which began shortly after Britain acquired these territories! Brentwood is a town in Williamson County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 2,693 at the 2010 census. Brentwood is part of the Memphis– Nashville– Chattanooga metropolitan area. The first settlers to arrive in what is now Brentwood were three groups of Scots-Irish farmers who arrived from Ulster in 1803. They named their new land "Brentwood" after a vicar they met on their way there. By 1830, Brentwood had a population of only fifty people and was almost entirely rural. However, by 1835, when Andrew Jackson became president, Brentwood had become one of the most important towns in Tennessee because it lay within easy reach of Nashville and its growing cotton industry. Jackson vetoed a bill that would have granted voting rights to African Americans in Tennessee. This led to the Battle of Donelson (1836), during which four hundred men from Brentwood fought against five thousand Confederate troops under General Braxton Bragg. The Battle ended with Confederate victory and the loss of many lives for both sides; however, it helped create a climate of fear among Tennesseans about potential black powerbrokers who could challenge white supremacy any time soon. In 1839, James Kellar donated 114 acres (45 ha) near present-day downtown Brentwood to build an agricultural college called Vanderbilt University as part of his gift to Knoxvilleorea Hundred Associates—a group devoted to improving public education throughout East Tennessee by promoting university education for women and girls as well as developing agricultural resources east of the Cumberland River for local commerce and agriculture. In 1861, when Civil War began, Brentwood sent two citizens into battle: John Gist and Gideon Welles Malikambe were killed while serving in Company K2 9th Regiment Tennessean Infantry during the Battle of Shiloh on April 6th 1863; this event is commemorated with a statue located at Second Street & Main Street). Afterward, much like other towns across America which closed down or went through hard times due to wartime destruction and shortages caused by war effort shortages (e.g., Mobile also lost many residents during this period), business stopped altogether as people turned their attention towards Reconstruction South Carolina instead Shortly before returning home from service on May 8th 1865 he gave all his property including slaves back to their owners free or for $500 each During Reconstruction years until late 1880s most businesses closed down due mainly because there wasn't enough money available from government programs such as food stamps or low interest loans that had been created specifically for Black businesses . Businesses did not open up again until around 1920s when people started traveling back into town primarily for tourism purposes
