The history of gourmet coffee in Huron, South Dakota begins with the first café opened in 1921. The first owner was John P. White and he called it the Coffee House. It was located on Main Street in downtown Huron. In 1932, Mr. White moved his business to a new building on Fourth Street and changed its name to the Coffee Palace. The palace had a large floor space and it offered both espresso and cappuccino drinks. In 1951, Don Hennings bought the Coffee Palace from Mr. White and changed its name to the Don Hennings Coffee Shop & Cafe. The shop served breakfast, lunch, and dinner until 1978 when it closed its doors for good. After closing, Don Hennings donated all of his profits back to society through foundation grants and gave away free coffee beans to any needy person in Huron at least once a year until 1984 when he retired from business ownership altogether. In 1984, Gail Hammons purchased the Don Hennings Coffee Shop & Cafe from Mrs. Hammons and reopened it as the Gail Hammons Café with fresh roasted coffee beans from her own farm on Third Street in downtown Huron- making this one of only 2 cafes specifically dedicated to roast your own beans! With over 20 years of experience serving up delicious hot coffee every day of the week we know that there’s no doubt that our customers love our freshly roasted coffee!

When it comes to coffee, there are many different types and brands to choose from. However, the best coffee is not just any old coffee. It has to be gourmet coffee, meaning that it is made with high-quality beans and carefully processed. There are a number of reasons why this type of coffee is so special. First, it costs more than regular coffee. This is because the quality of the beans used in gourmet coffee can be much higher. Second, its flavor can be very unique and complex. Finally, it often contains additional flavors that make it a particularly enjoyable experience overall.

Huron is a small town in south Dakota. The population was 1,828 at the 2000 census. It is located on the banks of the Missouri River. The town was founded in 1881 by farmers from Illinois and Wisconsin who were looking for a place to settle after leaving their crops behind in those states during the California gold rush. The town grew rapidly due to its location and its access to water resources. By 1907, Huron had become a city with a population of 3,000. The city was platted in 1908 and became an incorporated village in 1912. In 1924, Huron merged with Aberdeen to form one large municipality. In 2007, Huron made national news when it announced that it would be closing its doors for good at the end of that year due to budget cuts caused by changing economic conditions across America. However, many residents have already started planning their next steps and are holding out hope that they may reopen again down the road. Today, Huron is known for its annual corn festival which features live music and art displays throughout the course of the weekend. Additionally, there are several other events happening each year such as rodeos, fairs, summers camps and Christmas celebrations which bring people together from all over South Dakota for fun and food!

Africa has been the birthplace of coffee, and its beans have long been exported to Europe and Asia. Coffee was first roasted in Africa by indigenous farmers and then exported to European traders. The first coffeehouses in Europe were opened in the 16th century, and early Dutch explorers discovered coffee beans growing in East Africa. In the 18th century, British traders began trading with East Africa, and they soon discovered that coffee beans could be traded for goods such as ivory, slaves, cloth, etc. In 1795, a group of Englishmen sailed to Zanzibar and purchased two thousand sacks of ground coffee from African merchants. They named their ship after the bean – The Swallow –and set sail for England. This was the beginning of English coffee trade with Africa. Over time, other countries followed England's lead and became involved in the Africana trade: Russia in 1812; Spain in 1814; Portugal in 1822; Italy under Napoleon Bonaparte in 1830; and Romania under Carol I in 1938. By 1850, a total of twenty-six different countries had purchased or bought part ownership of Ethiopian Coffee Corporation (ECCO), which was founded by Emperor Haile Selassie I to promote cooperation between Ethiopia and various European countries. European settlers brought new technology with them when they arrived on these islands: they developed mills that processed coarsely ground coffee into a smooth drinkable consistency called “breakfast poultice” or “chocolate milk” (a type of cold drink). However, until about 1800 most Europeans did not realize how important coffee was for powering artillery shells during World War II because without caffeine there would have been no military victory over Japan

There is no one definitive history of gourmet coffee. Some people claim to have been brewing this type of coffee for as long as anyone can remember, while others contend that it only became popular in the last few decades. Regardless, there are a number of different origins and methods for making gourmet coffee.
