The coffee shop continued to be open until it closed in 1978. One of the earliest coffee shops in Simpsonville was The Coffee House at 116 N Main Street. This business opened on December 14, 1892 and served customers from South Carolina and surrounding states. The Coffee House was known for their delicious java drinks and strong sandwiches which were popular among local residents. The CoffeeHouse also served as a meeting place for various community organizations such as the Methodist Church, the Chamber of Commerce, and other civic groups during this time period. It is interesting to note that even though this business closed its doors in 1978, it still remains one of the most well-known entities associated with Simpsonville's early history! In addition to serving delicious java drinks and sandwiches, The Coffeehouse also offered a variety of other services such as haircuts and dry cleaning during its time period including 1922-1978 (!). In total, The CoffeeHouse operated for more than sixty years! Interestingly enough, since their closure in 1978 The CoffeeHOUSE has not completely disappeared from our town but can still be found tucked away behind some bushes near Calvary United Methodist Church! In 1907, a man named Cornelius Van Doren bought some of the original farm land and began production of coffee. The business continued to grow and by 1912, Van Doren had purchased a large plantation on which he grew coffee beans for sale to local merchants. By 1916, Van Doren was importing beans from Europe and exporting them to various parts of the United States. In 1933, Van Doren sold his plantations and business interests to Harry Johnson who continued to produce and sell coffee until his death in 1984.

It is part of the Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheboro Combined Statistical Area. Simpsonville was founded in 1798 by General Andrew Johnson and his wife Martha (née Hawkins). It became an incorporated village in 1876. The first post office opened in 1881. The name of the town comes from Major General Simpson's visit to the area in 1824. The town developed as a cotton plantation economy until it transitioned to a service industry during World War II with its establishment of the Simpsonville Air Force Base and other military facilities. After the war, Simpsonville experienced economic growth as its population increased to over 2,000 due to its access to Interstate 85 and other transportation opportunities. However, since 2000s there has been significant decline in population due to extensive suburban development around it..

In 1937, Swiss caffeine manufacturer Nestle merged with Italian multinationalrelli SpA to create Ferrero Group Limited (Ferrari). Ferraris became one of Nestles’ core businesses including chocolate production; however, Koffie continued to be produced at Nestles’ other factories until 1967 when it was finally introduced into retail stores worldwide under the name “Nestlé Koffee”

The first post office was established in 1809, and the first store was built in 1813. In 1837, a school was built and named for General Andrew Johnson. In 1850, two stores and one hotel were opened. The town experienced growth until the start of World War I when it decreased in population due to economic hardships. Simpsonville regained its popularity during World War II as a munitions plant because of its location near Charleston. However, after the war ended, Simsonsville declined again and had no major events or attractions through the years until it gained notoriety for being used as a shelter for Hurricane Florence victims in 2018.
The Simpsonville Plantation was a plantation in South Carolina that was founded by Nathaniel Simpson in 1795. The Simpson family continued to own and operate the plantation until it sold off in 1827.
